396 american babies were named "Isis" in 2014

The name first appeared in the top 1000 names in 1994 and was rising for a while.

The name means "supreme goddess". Pretty unfortunate to name your kid that in the last couple years...

Associated with healing and motherly love. A lot of the iconography associated with the Virgin Mary and baby Jesus looks rather similar to images of Isis and her son Horus.
