Is Ted Cruz endorsed by God? Cruz’s Iowa chairman says as much

DES MOINES, Iowa — Some endorsements carry more weight than others in politics.

On Friday night, Sen. Ted Cruz’s Iowa campaign chairman, Matt Schultz, suggested that God himself wants Cruz to be president.

“We need someone who will go to Washington and throw the money-changers out,” he said, comparing Cruz to Jesus himself, at a Cruz campaign “Rally for Religious Liberty” that drew more than 2,500 Iowans. “God prepares and raises special men and women to protect and fight for his people, and I believe this is one of those moments in time. Ted Cruz is that man who God has prepared for this moment in time, to be our champion, to fight for our husbands, our wives, our children and our grandchildren, for our country.

“Ted Cruz will restore our Constitution. He will restore our belief in America,” he said.
