Disruptive protest isnt nicethats the whole point. But sometimes its necessary.
My guess is that Bernie Sanders and Black Lives Matter will get the choreography right before too long. They may already have. Introducing the Vermont senator at a bigger Seattle rally Saturday night, his new press secretary declared: You know which candidate for president will shut down the private prison industry, she asked the throng of 15,000 people at the University of Washington. You know which candidate will have the courage to fight unjust mandatory minimums and the death penalty?
Sanders, a young African-American woman, told Buzzfeed that she reached out to the senator to offer advice on how address the Black Lives Matter movement. She soon found herself hired. Sanders previously served as the national youth chair of the Coalition on Juvenile Justice.
Black Lives Matter will probably continue actions that occasionally disrupt campaign events of Democrats. But compared to the disruptive effect of Donald Trump on the Republican field, BLM is a picnic. The Dems should count their blessings.
