Uh huh. Whatever.

As oil prices are dropping like a rock, the smell of B.S. is rather pungent.....

Gas prices in the Midwest may go up as much as 30 cents to a dollar due to a refinery shutdown in Indiana.

BP's refinery in Whiting is having problems with its largest crude distillation unit, which handles more than half of the facility's capacity, according to Patrick DeHaan, senior petroleum analyst with GasBuddy.com.

The refinery is the seventh largest in the United States and the biggest in the Midwest, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration's Web site. Its operable capacity is 413,500 barrels per calendar day.

"Almost immediately, market gasoline prices shot up on the concerns of reduced gasoline supply from the BP refinery," DeHaan said in a written statement, estimating a 15- to 30-cent hike. .................(more)

The price of oil is dropping like a rock yet they're trying to tell up something is wrong with one refinery so the price of gas has to shoot up 30-40 cents.

Guess we're not supposed to believe our lying eyes when we see reports of oil prices plummeting because of the flood of crude on the world markets.
