because at least one of them was certainly confused.

I am so glad they were arrested before they managed to get through. I know what that very pretty young woman in "true love" would have had for a life if they'd gotten there.

The couple detailed the skills they could bring to ISIS, including being "good with computers, education and media," a well as "math and chemistry."

Or maybe a graphic designer. Maybe I should apply.

Is it religious, or political. Is it love of ISIS, hate for US or the promise of a glorious life after? It's beyond my capacity to imagine the attraction.

like back in the days when a jilted young Frenchman would run off to join the Foreign Legion. Romance, adventure, all the Algerians you can kill!

But ISIS? Wow, people are getting dumber by the minute.

I have been listening to Ayaan Hirsi Ali, hence cognitive dissonance. It's shocking in juxtaposition.

especially when they are young and particularly feckless.

When I was that age said dumb ideas ran to someone saying "Hey, let's drive to Mexico (from Minnesota) and score a bale of weed" after a few too many bong hits but cooler heads and a lack of gas money usually prevailed. I got no answers.

She is an incredible person. Oddly, I find that I disagree with her less vehemently on some issues than I did four years ago. I still disagree with some of her foreign policy views, but I am more inclined to actually hear what she has to say.
