Dozens of people have been killed and hundreds more wounded in Kabul after three devastating attacks over a 24-hour period, the bloodiest in years, rocking Afghanistan's capital.
While all three attacks appeared aimed at army, police, and international forces, Afghan civilians bore the brunt of the terror.
Due to the scale of the destruction, the total number of casualties is likely to remain unclear for some time.
On Saturday, a day after a massive truck bomb detonated in a residential area near an Afghan National Army base, one local resident sifting through the rubble at the blast site said he had been unable to locate two of his friends and feared their bodies were still trapped underneath the collapsed buildings.
