one of Cecil's cubs killed by rival, scumbag palmer still in hiding

When American “trophy” hunting dentist Walter Palmer killed the popular Zimbabwe lion known as Cecil in July, he didn’t just kill a lion — he set off a chain of sorrow, grief, and violence that has now led to the death of a defenseless young lion cub sired by Cecil, killed by a rival lion, according to sources inside Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe.

meanwhile, the us govt is keeping the public in the dark on the extradition request

http://nehandaradio.com/2015/08/05/cecil-the-lion-us-govt-mum-on-zimbabwes-extradition-request/

we need to keep the pressure on..this murdering scumbag needs to answer for his crime in zimbabwe!

A male will usually kill all of the offspring of the females that he's taken over from another male.

Apparently in this situation, the mail "cousin" has been watching over the cubs. It is not always a hostile situation, depending upon the relationship and temperament of those involved. In this case, they were friendly, and so hopefully the cousin will continue to care for the cubs Cecil left behind.

There was concern that Jericho wouldn't protect them, or that he wouldn't be able to protect all of them. So far, according to WildCru a while back, the prides have merged and he's successfully protected them all.

WildCru also denies the reports of a rival killing one of the cubs. (see my post below)

I have been following several groups relating to Cecil on FB. The cub they are talking about actually died before Cecil died. They believe that a predator got it.

Cecil's cubs - David Macdonald corrects more inaccurate reporting
August 9, 2015

David Macdonald corrects more inaccurate reporting: We at the WildCRU have been puzzled to read some media accounts that one of the cubs born to the pride dominated by Cecil and Jericho had just now been killed, a report interpreted as evidence of infanticide by incoming males. Certainly, this (mis)information did not come from the WildCRU. The fact is that eight cubs were born into the pride, one of which died of natural causes months ago (and long before Cecil’s death). Some of our followers will remember that a few days ago we also had to correct a very widely reported story that Jericho had been shot illegally (at a time when our fieldteam found him eating happily from a giraffe the pride had killed). Perhaps the lesson is that readers should cautious about reports relating to our study prides, and indeed our work, unless they are confirmed by us – amidst some excellent journalism, which we salute, regrettably there has been some wildly inaccurate reporting. Our fieldteam will be striving for a visual of the pride during the coming week – as always this is difficult and time-consuming work, so we will continue the habit of speaking only when we are sure of our facts.

that got it from Zimbabwe. There were originally 8 cubs, 7 of them of which were alive at the time that Cecil was killed. There are still 7 cubs alive. The 8th cub was killed before Cecil and it is thought that a predator like a hyena might have gotten it.

If you will recall, there were all sorts of news sources reporting that Jericho had been killed. Jericho is very much still alive.

From Justice for Cecil the Lion:

"From what I am learning, the cub they are referring to was killed before ‪#?Cecil‬ died. They articles refer to seven remaining cubs, which has been the same number referenced immediately and after Cecil was killed. "I have just received a call from Zim! With regards to the article published in the Mirror, it is FALSE & there is no cub that has been killed. The cub they could be referring to disappeared before Cecil's death, presumably was killed by a hyena or another predator! The pride is fine & so is Jericho who is doing his rounds!" "

who lured Cecil out of the game reserve for a canned hunt and failed to point out the very large radio collar around his neck. Those are the people who need to sit in prison for a long time to think things over. Palmer is a self absorbed 1%er twit and the inconvenience of being extradited and compelled to testify, admitting his own wimpiness as a great white hunter, will be punishment, especially combined with world wide censure and the loss of his dental practice.

Without those "safari guides," a wimp like Palmer wouldn't have a chance and we all know it, so that's where the axe needs to fall most heavily, make an example of them and try to drive the others out of the business of providing canned hunts to rich sociopaths who like to decorate their walls with memories of misery and death.

Palmer is what he is and now everybody knows it. What needs to be done is to try to stop this stuff at the source. If he puts those shitheads and their bait dumps out of business, maybe that will start to rehabilitate him somewhat.

I keep waiting to hear that he's surfaced and being processed. Where the heck can he be? I hope he's enjoying being the hunted. I have a feeling the rest of his life will be like this.
