Do you remember when those people were pulled off the street in Iraq and Afghanistan and sent to Gitmo? Some of them kids, too.
Then it was "domestic terrorists" who were accused of "plots" and sent away or held without a trial. But they were immigrants.
Now it's happening to our own. Do you care yet? Are you at all concerned about the next four years when it's staring us in the face?

(14 posts)This Hummus-gate Obama deal with MonSATAN and Pepsi-Cocaine is frightening. GMO-city, no doubt.
Then we have NDAA.
Oh, fun!

How about you???
NB, to the casual juror, this reply is tongue in cheek and not particularly sincere.

(8,994 posts)Wow, it's all based on the timing, huh? If Bush or Mitt Robme was in office that would not have gotten hidden.
Sorry, I am voting for President Obama in 2012, but "I will vote to oust anyone who does (some heinous act)" is quite admirable on its face.
lets take the horse, I'm sorry you got jacked like that. It's a sad commentary on life that we have to hide a post that says this, on account that it amounts to an opposition to Obama'12. Sometimes you have to take the hit for being morally consistent in your views.
I'm more of a pragmatist. I'm voting for President Obama this year because in many cases he has fought hard for America, and in any case whatsoever, Mitt Robme is so much worse an option that my decision is a no-brainer. But you damned well skippy I will be voting and getting out the vote for the anti-drone Democratic candidate in the 2016 primary.
Here's to you, lets take the horse. I'm a pragmatist, shouting out to the morally consistent crowd. I feel your pain. May we meet in 2016 and may our voices all be LOUD AND IN SOLIDARITY.

(39,665 posts)... since I am no longer a moderator, I have no idea.
However, apparently this was the consensus of the MIRT, who have perhaps more information at their disposal: http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=profile&uid=284781&sub=trans
So where is says "repeat troll" huh? Oy.
Thanks, I rarely visit the transparency page.

(12,977 posts)If they can arrest anybody, search their residence without a legal warrant, and charge them with terrorism -- then yes, the war on terror has really come home. And under the law being used in Illinois, protesters arrested in the past could also have been charged with terrorism, even peaceful puppet-makers.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bread_and_Puppet_Theater
Bread & Puppet volunteers were among the 79 people arrested at a warehouse in Philadelphia during the 2000 Republican National Convention. The Associated Press reported that the scene of the "SWAT-style" raid was broadcast live by news helicopters. Years later, the AP explained that there "was tense talk (later proved unfounded) of terrorist plots being hatched in the "puppetista" headquarters, of bomb building and anarchist-fueled mayhem." Its report did not include the police's side of the story.
"A couple of our folks were down there, helping to build puppets", said Linda Elbow, company manager for Bread & Puppet. "The cops went into the studio...arrested people, and took the puppets. So, now, puppets are criminals."
