Dale Earnhardt Jr. was surprised to learn that the Republican Congressman from Georgia sponsoring an amendment to ban military sports spending has not been to a NASCAR race.
Now, NASCARs most popular driver who is sponsored by the National Guard is inviting him to one.
Earnhardt spoke Friday, a day after the House Appropriations Committee approved the $608 billion defense bill that included an amendment to prevent the military from sponsoring pro sports. The bill is sponsored by Reps. Jack Kingston, R-Ga., and Betty McCollum, D-Minn. snip
The National Guard is spending $26 million this fiscal year to sponsor Earnhardts team the most it will spend on any sports sponsorship, said Maj. Brian Creech, resource and contracts manager for the National Guard recruiting division.

How can repubs get mad at us spending money on healthcare and other things when they are spending money on extra stuff not needed like helping poor people.

The military makes a ton of money from pro sports as well as college sports. They've got memorabilia of all stripes to impress the hell out of poor kids who can be swayed by this stuff.
