Cheney, Rumsfeld and other nasty comments about Obama: "lazy" "incompetent" "unAmerican" "unintelligent"
"naive" etc.

Here is my assessment of him: smart, persistent, fearless.

It is not just that they are following Obama who, however you may assess his performance as President, is one of the most intelligent and well-educated Presidents that we have ever had. No, it is the thought that any of the GOP candidates could even BE a candidate, let alone have any chance of becoming President. I have also referred to them as clowns, but really, however ludicrous they may be, the thought of any of them winning the the general election is just terrifying. We are at a crucial moment in history: if we do not get serious about stopping global warming and the related problem of abolishing the neoliberal economic order that is both raping the planet and impoverishing entire countries (witness the Eurozone), I really do think that we are doomed. But then again, it is late, and I just watched the GOP debate (never conducive to happy thoughts), so maybe I am being unduly pessimistic.
