Kasich/Thune ticket is what I fear

I think if Ohio Gov. John Kasich wins the nomination, and picks South Dakota Sen. John Thune as his VP, I would fear that ticket somewhat. These two are conservatives that play a good game of persuasion, and I think that would play into some uniformed voters. Thune would put MN, WI, IA in play, and Kasich with Ohio and Pennsylvania. That would be problematic. Thoughts?

They don't have his name recognition, esp. Thune. I don't see this flying, but of course I could be wrong!

If the Republicans can get approaching 40% of the Latina vote, plus Ohio and Florida, they win.

...winning the general goes through winning the primaries. That's like saying that the path to being the winning Triple Crown jockey is by being the Super Bowl MVP.

Possible? Yeah.

Probably? Snowball in hell.

That said, he's the R that I fear in the general but I think he's watching from the sidelines by then.

Seems to be forced to taking his chances with sane voters maybe hoping that that will give him an Ohio block to move or bargain from. Same as our esteemed donut eating governor from NY. This strategy usually fails even in trying to game early states for the "favorite son". Maybe the fractured roster invites another try at this very old strategy, but the so-called sane GOPers still compete among themselves and can't pile up enthusiasm or votes to make any of it happen.

Everyone is jockeying. The real gain or destruction is the purview on monied frontrunners with no base finding a populist frontrunner. Behind the scenes the failed Libertarian candidate Koch is backing agendas and candidates like himself to guarantee a meltdown in a bigger party. We may be watching nothing but shadow puppets in the entire mean, lackluster GOP process. Jeb seems to be shrinking right now as Bush Jr. did once he stole the office. All the putative leaders or "naturals" or base champions seem to be hurting themselves. Like when they ended up with the loser McCain at the end of their 2008 charade and retread loser East coast Romney.

Little real political potential except for money and fraud.

More than John Thune ...

That dude is a freekin MONSTER! ... He is gonna mop the floor with Bernie's hairdo, and then buff it to a mirror-like shine with Hillary's pantsuit ...

Start quaking in your boots ... Here comes the mighty John Thune to rip down the walls of government and remake it in his image!

I'm shaking .. So concerned ...

He's a snake in the grass because he seems reasonable. My husband, a pretty moderate guy (but certainly on the left), said if he had to pick a Republican, he'd pick Kasich.
How many others say that?
