Aug 2015

Why would I even WANT to bring myself to watch it?

The OP acts like it was oatmeal that I was supposed to eat, but couldn't stand it.

It's a debate for an election where I cannot vote. Why am I even supposed to think about watching it?

I don't even know why we spend so much time talking about it, except that I guess when the media rings their bell, a whole bunch of us start salivating.

It's like our favorite soap opera, except that "As the Republican Party turns" is on 24/7.

WTF? Get a life, people.

The questions by Megan Kelly aimed at Trump were fun to watch.

I've been watching political debates since Humphrey versus Fuck-Face Nixon in 1968. . . I have seen some stomach-turning shit on the tube, and it's only gotten worse. . . . Much, MUCH, MUCH worse over the years. The current crop of clowns is about the stupidest in recent memory with the EXCEPTION of the worthless and lying POS, George W. Bush. I no longer have the stomach to watch ANY of them. I can scarcely read about them in the newspaper, and even here among friends on DU, I still can barely read ABOUT their "debate" without wanting to vomit up my supper.

if only for the humor factor. However, I didn't notice the time, not sure when it started, and ultimately, I decided that I didn't really care when it started so I didn't watch after all.

Then I thought I would catch some commentary on MSNBC. Shit -- that running mouth Matthews was on and I simply can't stand him. He talks and talks and even when he asks a questions, he talks over the person trying to answer. He is particularly bad with women -- he interrupts them before they get two words out. I watched earlier this week when he had Joy Reid on -- he asked a question, answered the question and then asked Reid for her answer. She said one word -- and he interrupted; she said another word, he interrupted again. After he did that the third time, I shut him off.

So, no, I didn't watch, don't know what was said, and if you want the truth, I don't really care what was said. I'm confident that whatever came out of their mouths was self-serving, hateful, miserly, and probably not even the truth.

Part of Trump's ummmh--'charm'--as it were--is that he gives the appearance of being less 'controllable'--that loose cannon aspect is like an addictive drug to the mouth breathing un-thinkers!

I suspect they'll narrow it down to a few duller, safer choices soon enough. In the interim, that Kelly woman who moderated the debate must be thrilled--"The Donald," by insulting her, has given her cred, so she can perhaps transition to a real news network if she has a mind!
