... The Confederate-flag bearing horse was removed in July from its spot on a carousel, where it sat near a horse in Union garb, after The Children's Zoo at Celebration Square, 1730 S. Washington, received complaints, director Nancy Parker said.
"The horse is still resting comfortably in the barn," Parker said, noting the zoo had not made a decision about the horse as of Tuesday, Aug. 5.
"We're just letting some of the dust settle," she said Tuesday, calling the fate of the flag-bearing horse "a decision for the off-season."
Asked if the zoo has received more input after news about controversy of the carousel Confederate flag, Parker said, "We aren't really getting anything. It's been fairly quiet" ...
