(11,804 posts)Because I can't really ascribe much of what republicans think to rational thought. In some cases you can ascribe it to bad information, but even in those cases the information is so clearly fraudulent that you have to really want to believe it.
On the other hand, I have had the annoying experience many times of meeting someone who seemed more or less rational, a good person, and then finding out they are convinced that Bush was a great president and Obama is presiding over a brutal dictatorship. I don't know what to say about that.

Their main concern is lowering their taxes, removing regulation and growing fat off the Goverment teat.

"Rational" seems a bit of a stretch.
