Stephen King Has Written a Campaign Slogan for Donald Trump

"If you're white, you're all right!"

Stephen King proposed a new slogan for Donald Trump’s presidential campaign Wednesday, and it’s pretty safe to say the bestselling author won’t be voting for The Donald.

“If you’re white, you’re all right!,” begins King’s suggested slogan. “Any other hue, I don’t trust you.” The motto plays on the accusations of racism that have plagued Trump since his campaign launch in June, in which he referred to some illegal immigrants from Mexico as rapists. Although Trump has claimed broad support among the Latino community, polls show otherwise.

Trump currently leads most national Republican polls and will be taking center stage at the first GOP debate Thursday night.

I was working with that essay the other day, and thinking how apropos for the times of today.

On the other hand, King's slogan:

If you’re white
You’re all right!
Any other hue?
I don’t trust you!

is very simple and childlike. Kind of like Trump.

saying that his speech sounded better in its original German. I thought that comment took the air out of the enthusiasm for Buchanan. This was back before every discussion on the internet drew comparisons to Hitler if it went more than 10 or so posts.

Love me some King, have almost all of his books. I love his characters and his character development.
Just finished Dr. Sleep, a sequel more or less to the Shining. It's a totally awesome read.

.... but Trump says he is not a racist, just like all of his supporters agree, that they too are not racists, even while flying the Confederate flag. Wow, the truth about American, born and bred racism, has revealed a new prism in which to view the truth about American racism and white privilege.

"It's alright, because it's all white" years ago. Not trying to take away from Stephen King, but when I read "If you're white, you're all right!", it reminded me of Chris Rock.

When I first heard it, it went this way "Black may be beautiful, but when you white, you right". It had (and continues to have) a little bit of bite to it.
