Interesting observation about voters opines of whether the country is on the "right track"

From the WSJ graphic

I am just looking at the top graph; cannot separate the rest

Look how many thought we were on the right track during the Clinton years at the second half of the 90s, when we successfully made the transition from cold war science and engineering to peace time applications. When we had a surplus (on paper, at least) which did trickle down to the middle class.

Starting in the mid '00 we got tired of the never ending wars and the "great recession.

It has been downhill since 2010 and I think that the teabaggers are clearly behind this. Many were shocked, and still are unwilling to accept that fact that we have had a black man sitting in the White House. It started with that idiot who shout, during the State of the Union address "you lie."

It moved to the teabaggers who would go openly carry a firearms to rallies featuring Obama. It included the ones objecting to the ACA demanding that "the government stay away from Medicare."

And, of course, we had Palin and Cruz and the enablers who kept fanning the "wrong track'" mantra.

So now that Trump is running with this, well the Republicans are reaping what they sowed.

I'd say the graph shows a lot of hope, followed by almost immediate disillusionment.

A lot of hope and then we lost the House and a Senate Republican leader whose sole mission was to make sure that Obama would not be re-elected. Now, this will be considered "wrong track."
