Are non-star members still seeing ads on DU

or not?

I haven't been able to access DU on my mobile device since yesterday. On my mobile, the entire home page pulls up except for the content in the small ad box at the top. So the site just hangs trying to download the ad content. Can't even get to other sites on my mobile if I'm trying to access DU while it's hanging. No problems with any other site.

So I pulled out my clunker laptop and of course here I am, but there are no ads showing anywhere on DU! I'm wondering if these two ad observations could be related?

ETA: sent a query re this problem to Skinner. Waiting for reply. In meantime, got curious whether this has affected anyone else.

Am I the only one who is not? I'm here, just no ads are -- on any page! That's what's so weird. There must be some connection between all of the sudden not being served ads on my laptop while simultaneously DU hangs on my mobile because expected content in an ad box is not loading.

Some are quite humorous. There are certainly some bugs in the system.

I am, however, experiencing very long loading times recently. I don't know if this is a function of the Net connection, DU, Firefox, or Norton, or some synergistic combination of them.

I was just telling Skinner it's disorienting at first to see no ads, but that now I'm enjoying it!

ETA: Okay, NOW I am not seeing most ads on every site I just checked. Was replying from what I saw when I was on yahoo earlier. Now there are just empty ad box spaces on most sites!

So not a DU problem at all for at least the laptop ad problem. Still don't have the mobile device problem figured out. Am worried now. I am only the person who has physical access to both my laptop and mobile device. Going to get off DU now to have them checked out for illicit access/downloads.

Thanks for the questiont-it made me recheck other sites.

but then I started to use Ghostery and they all disappeared.

I'll keep my star, though, until the bullies drive me away for good.
