Ulster County Fair allows sale of Confederate flag

NEW PALTZ - Ulster County Fair officials will continue to allow the Confederate flag to be sold on its grounds but asked vendors Thursday to squirrel it away from public sight so as not to offend patrons ...

Another vendor flew a Confederate flag among 12 others outside his tent, in between the flags of the Marine Corps and the Army. Larger Confederate flags and versions of the flag were also being sold at the back of the tent ...

Kajae Hill, a 13-year-old black girl from the Poughkeepsie school district, walked by the flag Thursday but said she didn't see it. Still, she didn't like that it was there.

"It's kind of offensive considering what happened in the last few weeks," Hill said ...

1. This Stuff Just Drives Me Crazy....

New York lost the most men than any state fighting the Confederacy. Over 52,000 New Yorkers killed by the people who flew that flag. The racism, the treason it represents. More than any of that, there is a heritage of death and sacrifice paid for in blood by those who fought against the Confederate states. What kind of morons find it appropriate to fly the flag of the people who brought THAT heritage about for your state?

2. Those things are still great asshole indicators

so they should be sold to assholes for that reason.

The traitor's flag simply shouldn't fly on government buildings.

3. One can often distinguish between ignorant a**holes and intentional a**holes:

the ignorant ones aren't aware they're being asinine; the intentional ones are perfectly aware of it

An ignorant a**hole, once aware of being an a**hole, loses the ignorant label and must chose between reforming or moving into the intentional a**hole category

A continuing intensive public education campaign on the confederate flag will produce enough social awareness that the public will overwhelmingly agree confederate flag wavers are intentional a**holes
