Killing of Lions Goes All The Way to the White House

This week the nation is seething over the murder of Cecil the Lion in Zimbabwe's Hwange National Park by an American dentist named Walter James Palmer. Palmer used bait to lure Cecil out of the park, then shot him with a bow and arrow mortally wounding him. Hunters found Cecil later, still alive and killed and beheaded him. Palmer paid $55,000 for his macho privilege.

Few realize that President George H.W. Bush, former Vice President Dan Quayle and the late Retired Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf Jr. were proud members of SCI and pleaded with the Botswana government to keep trophy lion hunts available, for trophy hunters like them. There were reports of lions that Bush and Quayle personally killed in Africa but they remain unconfirmed.

At the risk of stating the obvious, this type of "sport" or "hunting" is mental illness."

a non liberal has certain characteristics in common.

I am not sure if it starts pre puberty or not.

Is there an actual DNA issue here?

I have been known to sneak into their world on the internet and observe the way they talk to each other. They have a very real and serious hatred of liberals and minorities who are not subservient.

They dont seem to know why they hate us, but they do.

Working too little for far too much makes these fuckers bored. They can't think of anything useful to do with themselves (making the world a better place is for dumb suckers, I suppose), and I guess deep down they suspect that the money doesn't make them worth anything--so the compensation is to go out and subdue something more powerful than themselves...
I think if these fuckers want to hunt lions like their ancient human ancestors did, they should use the same weaponry. Let them use a sharpened stick, or rock that they had to flake sharp themselves, and just the brains god gave them.
The Lions would win nearly every time.

And he has spent an awful lot of it going to Africa and shooting exotic critters just so he can have their heads hanging from the wall in his ginormous living room.

I haven't seen him for a few years because my wife is creeped out from all those eyes staring at her and because all he can talk about are his "hunting" exploits.

I've been a lifelong hunter but I'm pretty much appalled by this practice.

I'm currently nursing a common house finch that broke her wing. Moving out to the country has taught me so much more about the world than I would have known otherwise I feel privileged -- if that makes sense. I love the animals and delight in what they show me.

I don't understand the killing type safari when a photo safari truly captures the animals in the most genuine glory.

He was on a quail hunt that was pretty much like shooting fish in a barrel. But then, all games Cheney ever played are always completely rigged.

but at least with him the thought of canned hunt was "unsportsmanlike."

I'm not sure if any of our Presidents engaged in the buffalo killings, which were the canned hunts of their day with special train schedules to catch the herds.

The killing of Cecil based on population is same as if 400,000 humans were to be killed. Population wise, compared to how many lions are left to humans.
