Like having almost any Democrat who actually supports the foreign policy objectives of the current president.

Schumer has more or less signaled his intent to oppose the Iran nuclear deal proposed by President Obama and Secretary Kerry.

the kind of Democrat people around here love to hate. He has managed to isolate himself from the liberal wing of the party and pretty much every Democrat I know.

But, he's got a guaranteed seat, so he can be a big shot at the moneyed get-togethers and with certain interest groups.

As much as I would hate to see him as majority leader, he's still better than a Republican. Just not by much.

But IMO he isn't much of a Democrat if he won't back the president on that.
