Water Palmer, a Minnesota dentist who sparked an angry firestorm by killing Cecil, a famous and protected lion on a big game hunt in Zimbabwe, settled a sexual harassment claim against him in 2009 for $127,500.
According to public documents posted below, Palmer is accused of sexually harassing a receptionist, who was also his patient, between July of 1999 and January of 2005. The woman was subjected to verbal comments and physical conduct involving her breasts, buttocks, and genitalia.
The woman informed her supervisor and Palmer that she wanted it to stop, but it didnt, and she alleges she was fired for reporting the harassment, according to the document. Palmer paid out the settlement without admitting to the allegations.
Aside from agreeing to pay $127,500, Palmer had to undergo at least three hours of sexual harassment training and provide the woman a signed letter of recommendation for future prospective employers.

(7,365 posts)I mean he covers all the sludgy characteristics of human excrement.
I figure once his dental practice closes down he'll slide over to Fox News and be "wildlife correspondent" for them. Or he can report on women's issues in the workplace.

(489 posts)away.
All tea partiers will see him as a hero.
Even with the sexual assault.
I would hope most female tea party members would have the good sense to stay away, but I am not sure of that.
What I am certain of is there is a huge section of society who will consider this guy a hero.

(17,863 posts)I have a few high school friends on Facebook who are very right wing (Tea Party level). They have jumped all over the dentist so I am not entirely sure he is going to get much support from anyone.

(489 posts)As vile as his attack on the poor was when he was in congress, his overall attitudes are not the extremist views we see from the rank and file tea party.
I will never forget when he said he would not do away with Medicare or Social Security, dont recall which it was now, because he didnt believe in social engineering.
That the program was itself social engineering, but to do away with it now after all this time would also be social engineering.
In other words, he was responsible enough to see the harm it would cause.
