It wouldn't be so bad if they would stop trying to bully me after I've said, 'No, Thank you'. I get times are tough and people are aggressively trying to make a living, but geez, who the heck wants to buy something from a jerk!

(36,827 posts)I keep copies of the municipal statute in the bookshelf by the door. When they ring the bell I hand them a copy and tell them the cops are on the way. It tends to get rid of them pretty quickly. I've seen some of them literally run away.

(21,925 posts)either at the front door or on the phone. I don't want to be convinced to buy something I didn't previously want. I can make up my own mind as to what I need. I don't think a tv, radio or internet ad has ever motivated me to buy something, either.
