3 weeks after burning a Confederate flag in a grill, a Colorado mom arrested at midnight

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/07/27/1406168/-3-weeks-after-burning-a-Confederate-Flag-in-a-grill-police-arrest-a-Colorado-mom-at-midnight

On this past Fourth of July, Patricia Cameron helped lead a rally with a Confederate flag-burning. This was a week before it officially came down at the South Carolina State House. Cameron and others lit the flag on fire in a grill at a public park. Almost three weeks later, at nearly midnight, when she and her 8-year-old son were both asleep, the police arrived at her home to arrest her.

The particular park she used doesn't allow grills.

Yeah, really.

Why in the hell would police show up at almost midnight to confront and arrest a woman over a park violation? In an interview with Daily Kos, Cameron told us why:

"They said it was because that was the only time the officer could get there, but I know that officer well. I have filmed him during multiple encounters between us. We are far from friends. I think it was intimidation, and I think that officer wanted to finally shut me up. And this was his way of showing dominance and power over me."

She said, "At almost midnight, alone with my son, thinking of all those names, Sandra Bland included...all I could think was I was going to become another hashtag."

I hope she wasn't "mouthing off," which in some jurisdictions is a capital crime for black women.

With all the forest fires, what she did was reckless. But arresting her...at midnight? Sounds like some officer got his undies in a twist because it was the rebel flag.

When the KKK comes to march down main street, the confederate swastika should be burning. When the white legislators go on and on about NOT destroying confederate monuments, the confederate flag sould be burning. When white racist mug in front of the camera with a burning American flag, the conferate flag should be burning. There is NO reason to not burn that symbol of southern concentrations camps called slavery. The only reason the confederate symbol of racism is not burning regularly, in public, is terrorism. State sanctioned terrorism by white racists.

police far too often. They use Manitou as a steppingstone to a better paying job in a bigger city.
However, I imagine a warrant was issued for them to show up at her house at midnight to arrest her. It is very disturbing to know that more than just the one cop were complicit in this.

Indiana anyway to serve warrants after midnight or on Sundays. It pisses me off. One night I listened to them go to 3 houses in search of a woman for a minor offense. Waking up people for no good reason. It's part of the new game here.

I know someone that was arrested over a year after a dui offense. It took that long for the blood work to show marijuana metabolites. A misdeameanor that cost them several thousand dollars, a record, and a year of probation. It's the new game here too. Show us your papers, give us your blood.
