This goddamned creep is real piece of work. . . .
. . .
In 2008, Palmer pleaded guilty in federal court in Wisconsin to misleading a federal agent in connection with the hunting of a black bear. Two years earlier, Palmer killed a bear near Phillips, in Price County. That location was 40 miles outside where he held a permit to hunt bear.
Palmer and others transported the bear carcass to a registration station inside the allowed hunting zone. At the station, he falsely certified that the bear had been killed in the legal zone. He then brought the bear to Minnesota.
Twice, a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service agent interviewed Palmer, who said he believed he killed the bear legally.
Facing a maximum penalty of five years in prison, Palmer was sentenced to one years probation and fined nearly $3,000.
Trouble also has found Palmer away from his hunting expeditions.
In 2009, he and the Minnesota Board of Dentistry agreed to a settlement involving allegations that he sexually harassed a receptionist. She alleged that Palmer made comments about her breasts, buttocks and genitalia.
Without admitting guilt, Palmer settled and paid $127,500 to the woman, who also was his patient. The settlement included references to his bear-hunting conviction and substandard record keeping.

(24,411 posts)Is anyone really surprised that this man sexually harassed an employee and was also involved in another poaching incident, in which he lied?
Someone who enjoys killing lions has major psychological issues; major control issues and issues with power. So, he kills animals to gain control and power.
This is oh-so typical of abusers. All kinds of abusers. They attempt to destroy those who they perceive as weaker than themselves, because they're out for that sough-after control and power that they seek. Usually their targets are women and children. I am not saying this to defame the man or as hyperbole, but I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised if it was discovered that he abused his wife and kids--physically and or sexually.
These types are the sickest among us. They are sociopaths, psychopaths and narcissists. I don't know what this guy is. I don't care. I'm just sick of weak, spineless pieces of shit like this.
And the lion hunting. First and foremost, it's horrendously sad. But also, this lion was practically tame. This was no challenge at all. All this "big man" did was lure the lion away by tying a dead animal to the bumper of his car. Then, he shot it with an arrow. There is no physical challenge to that stupid act. He didn't have to be strong or clever or cunning. Just a total lazy fuckwit. But this nimrod thinks that he's the big man because he got a tame lion to follow a dead animal strapped to his truck. It's not even hunting!
But in his tiny, weak brain--it's a big victory. What a laughable, delusional piece of shit this man is. It's the same way with sexually harassing the employee. In his damaged little mind, he's the big man for talking about her tits and ass. Glad that employee sued his ass. It's too bad that lion didn't use his ass as a scratching post.
Karma is coming around big and bad for this fuckwit. God only knows what else he's done to those around him, and his wife and kids.

(62,530 posts)The dark triad [1] is a group of three personality traits: narcissism, Machiavellianism and psychopathy.[2][3][4] Use of the term "dark" implies that these traits have malevolent qualities:[5][6][7][8]
Narcissism is characterized by grandiosity, pride, egotism, and a lack of empathy.[9]
Machiavellianism is characterized by manipulation and exploitation of others; a cynical disregard for morality, and a focus on self-interest and deception.[10]
Psychopathy is characterized by enduring antisocial behavior, impulsivity, selfishness, callousness, and remorselessness.[11]
All three traits have been associated with a callous-manipulative interpersonal style.[12] A factor analysis carried out at the Glasgow Caledonian University found that among the big five personality traits, low agreeableness is the strongest correlate of the dark triad, while neuroticism and a lack of conscientiousness were associated with some of the dark triad members.[10]

they are psychologically warped. They've got a load of denial to keep in place, to avoid facing who and what they are.
That takes a great deal of complex, mental energy. It's got to be tiring. They've got to know that they are weird and are
unlike most people--outcasts.
That's the only suffering I see them experiencing. You are right. These types do get away with murder, and then some. They rarely are held accountable and usually their wealth and power anesthetizes them against any real threats to their ego and the sick world they've built for themselves.
I don't believe in karma, either really. However, these people are not right in the head. Whatever is going inside of them leaves them without peace. They may live most of their lives bathed in denial, but reality creeps in every once in a while, I'm sure. Those fleeting moments must be hell, and their lives are spent trying to avoid the reality of who they are.
It's certainly not punishment enough, but it's something. I've also heard that toward end of life, denial fades. An aging mind simply cannot hold up that brick wall for them any longer. I'd like to think that they face the harsh reality of how they've spent their entire life on this planet. Even if it is for a short time, that has to be hell for them--even if it is just for their last days or hours.

Huh?
The lady was paid off, she settled (Palmer is still a total POS for his treatment of this lady and I am glad it has come out)....still, the Lion is dead, he had no chance to negotiate. Big difference.

(39,215 posts)shot with a bow and arrow at a close range and then tries to tell us that he did not see the collar?
Those are pretty straight forward facts.
PR can spin a lot of things but facts are facts. Plus now all the other things he has been arrested for are coming out - illegally killing another animal in WI and sexually harassing one of his workers.
It sounds to me like this guy has some real identity issues. Tries too hard to prove he is macho. Look at me I am a big game hunter! And well what else was he doing sexually harassing his workers.
Besides all the other things he should do about what he has done he should also see a psychiatrist.
