Jimmy Kimmel moved to tears over lion's murder.

I've fallen in love with Kimmel... he just spent much of his monologue telling Americans about
Cecil and his horrific death, ending with a tearful plea to turn this tragedy into a positive by supporting the wildlife team who have worked with Cecil over the years.

…is that this wasn't even hunting.

This guy didn't go out with a gun and hunt down a big, ferocious lion.

This wussy tart found a tame lion that was practically a pet to the local people. It had a radio collar around it's neck because it was being researched. Then, the guy ties a dead animal to the back of a vehicle to lure the lion, then shoots it with a bow and arrow.

THAT is not hunting. That is some dickwad sociopath pretending that he's hunting. So, he's got the Lion for a trophy and all of those bragging rights. But he did nothing smart, strong or original to get that lion. He murdered a lion that had a frickin name!

What a piece of shit he is.

suggesting that recent generations have grown up with and been influenced by
several different animation characters ( Simba, etc.) as if our connections to, and
empathy with animals is a media generated thing. REALLY?!!!! I suppose then if
we didn't have that exposure we wouldn't care so much???? Perhaps a complete
lack of connection to and reverence for the natural world is somehow more "normal"?

"Kimmel explained the back story of the tragic events and revealed his disappointment that main culprit behind the animal’s death was an American tourist. In reference to Palmer’s official statement about the incident in which he said, “I had no idea that the lion I took was a known, local favorite,” Kimmel shot back, “Stop saying you took the animal. You take aspirin… you killed the animal.”

Kimmel became heated and said, “The big question is, why are you shooting a lion in the first place? …Is it that difficult for you to get an erection that you need to kill things?” The talk-show host went on to note that Palmer has become the “most hated man in America who never advertised Jell-o pudding on television.”

Kimmel noted he wasn’t entirely against hunting if it was necessary for one’s livelihood, but stressed, “If you’re some a-hole dentist who wants a lion’s head over his fireplace in his man cave… that’s just vomitous.” He then showed various photos of Palmer proudly posing next to his previous kills of a bear, a leopard, and another lion. “He killed like half of Noah’s Ark,” said Kimmel, bringing some levity to the situation.

The host told the audience he didn’t want to “start a witch hunt,” and that the situation should be handled in a “lawful way.” Then Kimmel got choked up and fought back tears when urging everyone to donate to wildcru.org to support wildlife conservation, so perhaps some good could emerge out of this disturbing story. “Maybe we can show the world that not all Americans are like this jackhole,” Kimmel said in reference to Palmer..."

that and were not at all surprised that it was an American tourist who murdered Cecil.

'I TOOK'. They try to sound so tough, watched too many action movies and no one told them, 'they are fantasy, you're not supposed to think you can be hit by a car, beaten over the head several times with a two by four, get shot in the arm, fall off a bridge and get up and decimate the bad guy. No can do that and live. The average real life tough guy will be hospitalized after the car incident, end of scene.

Poor lion!

a little more if they left their weapons behind and 'took' on an animal without their guns.

Though why anyone WANTS to 'take' an animal just for sport, is a mystery to me, other than whatever issues they have and I'm not a psychiatrist, and am free to just despise people like this.

I realize he was just comparing the two men because they are both so hated by the public but
there is also the similarity of their need for dominance and power over another and
pursuing their prey in such underhanded ways.

Michael Jackson was going to buy it and call it "Wonderland" just before he died.

It listed for $16,500,000.

We need to TAX these bastards.

Do we really need to keep helping it along? Fuck!! Maybe we all realize the shit's hitting the fan and we need our douche bag trophy heads before all these beautiful creatures are gone. Heck, species are only going extinct 100 times faster than the background rate. Let's make it an even 200!
