(20,805 posts)What Mrs. Greenspan fails to mention, in fact all of them fail to mention this, is that President Obama gave them this deal to look over, but with or without Congress he can sign the deal because it's not a Treaty.
The last thing in the world you need after getting, what, six or seven other countries on board with you, is to have that parliament of whores get ANYWHERE close to it...

More to the point might be how she leaned toward how defensible the deal is.

(16,254 posts)It sure didn't take them any time to criticize it...actually, they started criticizing it way before it was a done deal. I hear criticisms, but I don't hear details. WHAT are they criticizing and what page is that written on?
That question goes for both sides of the aisle. I don't think a lot of Democrats ever know what's in a bill before they vote, as well. That has to be how a lot of Republican idiotic additions make it to the floor.
Do aides read the bills? Someone surely does.

(16,254 posts)Congress has become a joke. They don't come close to earning their salaries and certainly not their retirement package. I have lost what respect I had.
I haven't heard a word from Grassley in the last few years. I used to get a letter recapping his "achievements" over a certain period of time. Looks to me like he's sliding into retirement with his feet on his desk
Maybe he figured out I'm a Democrat.
