Mike Huckabee Won't Apologize: 'I Have Stood at That Oven Door'

July 27, 2015 Mike Huckabee could not be more dug in on his statement over the weekend comparing the Iran nuclear deal to the Holocaust.

"This president's foreign policy is the most feckless in American history," the former Arkansas governor and current Republican presidential candidate told Breitbart News on Saturday. "It is so naive that he would trust the Iranians. By doing so, he will take the Israelis and march them to the door of the oven."

"If we don't take seriously the threats of Iran, then God help us all," he said in response to a question from Dana Perino. "Because the last time—it's Neville Chamberlain all over again. We're gonna just trust that everyone's gonna do the right thing. Three times I've been to Auschwitz. When I talked about the oven door, I have stood at that oven door. I know exactly what it looks like."

I think Jon Stewart called it right last night, in Huckabee's own words (describing Beyonce):

V-U-L-G-A-R

That's what this man is. Vulgar.

He meant every word he said. Any "apology" would be stunningly insincere in any case, so it's actually rather refreshing he isn't offering one. His comments are just as completely fucking stupid as they always were of course, and the backlash he is getting is entirely justified, but at least he isn't pretending he isn't the asshole we all know him to be.

Good on ya, Huck!
