Donald Trump May Have Been Safer in Laredo,Texas

Snip

No sooner had he stepped off his private jet in the border town of Laredo than he told reporters, "People are saying, 'Oh it's so dangerous what you're doing, Mr. Trump? It's so dangerous what you're doing.' I have to do it."

There is, however, data available to analyze. According to annual numbers compiled by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Laredo saw a murder rate of 1.5 per hundred thousand residents in 2013.

Trump's hometown New York City saw a murder rate of 4.0 per 100,000 residents. Compared to other cities in Texas, Houston saw a murder rate of 5.9, nearby Beaumont a rate of 8.6, and the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex saw a rate of 4.4.

The bottom line? The numbers suggest the most dangerous thing Trump did in Laredo was leave.
