We’ve heard the rumors that Trump is actually a DLC plant, is Huckabee one, too? Or is he so desperate for camera-time he’ll spout any twisted rhetoric to get his name out there?

In case you haven’t heard, Huckabee criticized President Obama’s Iran policy by using a holocaust reference. How original. If Huckabee was courting the Jewish vote, he missed the mark by a country mile. MSNBC reports it this way:

Jewish groups across the country reacted to Mike Huckabee’s comments, in which the GOP presidential candidate this weekend likened the Iran deal to the Holocaust, with one organization saying the remarks “may be the most inexcusable we’ve encountered in recent memory.”

The former Arkansas governor has for months condemned the deal between Iran and world powers that will limit Tehran’s nuclear program for 10 years in exchange for fewer sanctions. Huckabee previously compared the deal to giving a pyromaniac 10 gallons of gasoline and matches.

Huckabee pushed the boundaries even further this weekend when he called the deal “idiotic” and said that President Barack Obama will ultimately “take the Israelis and march them to the door of the oven.”

The National Jewish Democratic Council immediately called on members of the Republican Party to denounce Huckabee’s comments, saying it is “not only disgustingly offensive to the President and the White House, but shows utter, callous disregard for the millions of lives lost in the Shoah and to the pain still felt by their descendants today.”
Whoopsie, looks like Magic Mike hucked up again. Not that he has any chance of winning the nomination, that nod will likely tip to either Bush or Walker, but he knows how to whip up the Rapture Righties and has a knack for drawing attention. Even if its all negative.

Is everyone as excited for these debates as we are? Running out to stock up on popcorn . . .

We're a coupla hundred miles south of the Cascadia Fault, but I'm gathering up pillows anyway.

We're on the Hayward Fault, which is supposed to be more active than the San Andreas.

It was over 10,000. We went to visit several months after Katrina when they were begging for tour business to help the economy. I will never forget what we saw.

We'd been there many times, and the devastation was breathtaking. Chop outs/chop ins where people huddled in their attics with water up to the 2nd floor.

Meanwhile, Shrub was having birthday cake with McCain.

But then the local economies are suffering, so off we go. San Francisco after the Loma Prieta earthquake. NYC after 9/11 (unbelievable tears at ground zero & we both worked for airlines that were imploded), Katrina - all but one of the parishes was devastated. But life goes on & you sit with locals, contribute to their decimated economy, & schmooze.

The Shrub/Cheney years were stomach turning.
