Republican: Child Abuse Made Me Gay

A Republican Missouri state senator claims that he spent five years as a homosexual because he was abused as a child. Sen. Bob Dixon, who is running a campaign for governor, says his "teenage confusion" was a direct result of the abuse. “I have put the childhood abuse, and the teenage confusion behind me,” he said. “What others intended for harm has resulted in untold good. I have overcome, and will not allow evil to win.” His mother, who is also a politician, told a reporter in 1992 that Dixon had a change of heart after having a religious experience.

2. When I was in college I was given credits for going through the library and discarding books that

were out of date or no longer accepted as relevant. One of the books I remember was a diagnosis book regarding homosexual lifestyle. There were dozens of weird explanations of homosexuality they called case studies.

It was one of the books I got rid of.

there is a story about Jean Dixon's (Bob's Mother) opposition to the play, Normal Heart that dealt with Homosexuality and AIDS. The article, also, mentions that Bob "guilt (about his sexual orientation) almost caused him to commit suicide."

I would suggest, Jean should examine where he got that "guilt"? And change her treatment accordingly.

5. God made me gay, I presume.

(Considering he is the same entity who demanded that people kill their children for arbitrary reasons, perhaps that counts as a kind of 'child abuse' since 'we are all God's children').

I know I've always been drawn romantically to other guys, and NEVER to women.

And I consider my sexual orientation a 'godsend', and wouldn't change it if I could.
