Jewish groups react to Mike Huckabee’s ‘oven’ remarks

has anyone in the republican party denounced huckabee's comments?

Jewish groups across the country reacted to Mike Huckabee’s comments, in which the GOP presidential candidate this weekend likened the Iran deal to the Holocaust, with one organization saying the remarks “may be the most inexcusable we’ve encountered in recent memory.”

The former Arkansas governor has for months condemned the deal between Iran and world powers that will limit Tehran’s nuclear program for 10 years in exchange for fewer sanctions. Huckabee previously compared the deal to giving a pyromaniac 10 gallons of gasoline and matches.

Huckabee pushed the boundaries even further this weekend when he called the deal “idiotic” and said that President Barack Obama will ultimately “take the Israelis and march them to the door of the oven.”

The National Jewish Democratic Council immediately called on members of the Republican Party to denounce Huckabee’s comments, saying it is “not only disgustingly offensive to the President and the White House, but shows utter, callous disregard for the millions of lives lost in the Shoah and to the pain still felt by their descendants today.

He's going for the evangelical, "we're living in the end times" person vote. They love the land of Israel as it needs to exist for their ridiculous end times fantasy to come about but they have zero love for Jews and will be the first ones to throw them into the fiery pits of hell for not accepting Jesus as their savior.

that these evangelicals actually feel as if they're the most persecuted people ever in the history of the world, using imagery like the holocaust or ovens feeds right into their paranoia. As I understand it, Israel must not only exist but also must be in Jewish hands or their end times fantasy cannot happen. That's the ONLY reason they seem to cater to Israeli's or even American Jews. I'm sure the Israeli government considers them nothing more than useful idiots.

I don't know if you watch HOB's "The Brink" (which is funny as hell), but a few episodes back the SOS (Tim Robbins) was "negotiating" with his Israeli counterpart and threatened to cut off aid and started listing Jewish congress members to which the Israeli responded, "So? Our support doesn't come from the American Jews, it comes from Texas, South Carolina, Missouri...your evangelical, fundamentalist population. They need us for their end of the world fantasies." (Paraphrasing) It was LOL funny!

but yup, that's the reality. But after they try and convince you how much they love Israel and Israeli's, just ask them what happens to the Jews that don't accept Jesus - they get very obviously, uncomfortably quiet before they tell you what's in store for the Jews. I guess in their minds it's much better for G-d to be throwing us into the ovens.

There aren't too many people in the US falling into that category, but the Huckster needs all the help he can get so he can appear on the same stage as Donald Trump at the GOP debates.

They love the idea of Israel because they believe it's existence is a harbinger of End Days. Huckabee's base is the Rapture Ready club. The more weapons the U.S. gives to Israel, the sooner the Apocalypse happens and that means Jesus returns.

They don't care if they offend actual Jewish people. Israel is just a pawn in their game.

You appeal to Evangelicals by declaring your love for Israel in the most over-the-top manner possible.

His audience was not Jews.

ORLANDO, Fla. – Jeb Bush rebuked Mike Huckabee on Monday for invoking the Holocaust in criticizing President Obama over the nuclear agreement with Iran, arguing that Republicans needed “to tone down the rhetoric” if they hoped to recapture the White House next year.

“The use of that kind of language is just wrong,” Mr. Bush told reporters after a town-hall-style meeting here. “This is not the way we’re going to win elections and that’s not how we’re going to solve problems. So, unfortunate remark — not quite sure why he felt compelled to say it.”

Mr. Huckabee, the former governor of Arkansas, said over the weekend that Mr. Obama’s Iran policy would “take the Israelis and march them to the door of the oven.”

His incendiary language prompted a strongly worded rejoinder from Mr. Obama at a news conference in Ethiopia on Monday.
