When Climate Change Goes Beyond The Point Of No Return - Who Will The Repugs Blame?.....

The Repugs are fighting climate change or global warming every chance they get. They are all in sync with denying that climate change is man made and going on as we speak. At some point - if we don't start acknowledging climate change and do things as a country or world and we get pushed past the point of no return - essentially no way to reverse or stop - who will the Repugs ultimately blame for it?

It certainly won't be the industries that bought them and their deep bench of RW propaganda media. Will it?

7. When none of our solutions work to fix the problem
Mon Jul 27, 2015, 01:50 PM

what will our solution be for that?

Unfortunately, "if only the Repugs would acknowledge it", probably doesn't quite grasp the complexity of the situation. I know, if they did at least that, we could all finally get to work on solving the problem. That would be wonderful, except that where we are today has been the result of a very long series of solutions to problems. The funny part is that the solutions that worked out the best, are most likely the ones contributing the most to the problem. Keeping more people alive, through medicine or food. Giving people the ability to travel far more often, for longer distances, at quicker speeds. There are probably a few more examples.

The real question is, in a world of probably limitless complexity, how would we be able to make everything static?

... not when their waterfront houses are under water... not when the heat waves kill thousands/millions...not when "storms of the century" occur twice a year...not when ocean acidification kills the oceans....

Never.

I said I thought God wanted us to be good stewards of the Earth and that global climate change was just logical consequences for failing at that. After that the conversation went downhill.

10. When it goes beyond the point? It probably already has gone past the point of no return

That's like saying a boulder pushed off a cliff towards a village is only past the point of no return once it's at the gate.

In reality, it's massive, unstoppable mass put it past the point of no return the moment it started gaining momentum down that hill.......

to the extent they acknowledge it at all, let's say in the face of some extreme catastrophe involving the deaths of thousands of humans, they'll find something about the victims to blame. E.g., if the people of Bangladesh are decimated by a severe drought, expect the Cons to blame them for their heathen ways.

if, on the other hand, some conservative stronghold like a cluster of small towns in rural OK is annihilated by off-season tornadoes, expect the Cons to say the victims are "reunited with GAWD" and blame FEMA or inadequate enforcement of building standards by the federal gov't.

or Obama. they can always blame Obama.

Don't go looking for logic or reflectiveness with that bunch.

they have been covering up and denying for decades.
when this crime against the planet receives proper attention and
real leaders speak up about the actual sequence of events and consequences,
everyone should realize what a serious thing happened under the watch of our government and
the legions of lobbyists who paid them off to sell the entire planet down the lake of fire.
