So many died. And to do away with that flag, that's why they died.

Southerners claim to fly the confederate flag to honor their dead in the Civil War.

Well, I hope they understand that when they fly that flag they dishonor those who died to keep our union strong -- among them the ancestors of many Americans like me. That flag is an insult to our ancestors and an insult to the idea of one nation.

And then on top of that, the Confederate flag is the symbol of racism. And if that isn't bad enough, it is the symbol of slavery.

How dishonorable can it get -- a flag honoring rebellion, racism and slavery?

It is a flag of shame, a flag of murder, a flag of hate, a flag of disloyalty, a flag of failure, a flag of racism, a flag of slavery.

I can't think of much worse than the Confederate flag

-- unless it is the NAZI flag of course.

Thanks for posting this Struggle for progress.
