don't want an obituary

my neighbor just passed and this comment caused newspaper to remove obituary. yikes!

The Newspaper article failed to report that Queenie (Darlene’s self-given name) had cancer in her spine as well as in her lungs. I feel that being her ex step-daughter the readers need another perspective on Queenie's life. Queenie was, pretentious, a successful gold-digger, controlling, self-centered, alienating, demeaning, vindictive, abrasive, pompous, racist and downright abusive. If she could’t use you she did’t need you. I have no tears or regrets. I'm still shocked KARMA got her! wow

Sounds like a woman I know. She would get an obituary response like that. Evil to the core. bravenak Jul 2015 #2

Her husband too but he's already dead. They were twin evil. Never had kids, thank goodness. Just harasses other relatives and sues them for random nonsense.

I can't say I think much of a person who'd post something that incendiary on an Obit. Obviously SOMEONE loved and is mourning the "ex step mother" or else the obit would not have been placed. It's not their fault she didn't get along with step mommy dearest.

Wow.

On the one hand we tend to say only nice things about the dead, but on the other hand folks sometimes have a hard time recognizing the deceased person given how she/he really lived.

I think we should write the truth about our dead.

A public statement from an estranged and embittered in-law? Is survivorship any measure of veracity?

The personal "truths" can be discussed in private. It's a cheap shot to defame the dead who cannot defend themselves.

wrong church. I agree that some things should be discussed in private but there really is no need to paint people, who were merely as human as the rest of us, as saints

for the newspaper to remove the offending comment
and leave the obit in place? I'm assuming someone paid for its placement, but even if not, this seems like a screwy way for the paper to handle things.

home town paper up north of KC and the home town paper did not put this part in.

Please come to celebrate Dan's life, and be ready to tip a cold one. For the service blue jeans are required
and golf shoes are optional.

I love it...(He told me to surprise) I suprised a couple of his sisters and brother,
I KNEW the ONES that loved it...and the rest can deal with it.
