CREEPY - Newly Declassified Photos of Cheney on 9/11 will Haunt your Nightmares

He's kicked back watching the twin towers roast.

The following photos were just released in response to a FOIA request filed by a PBS-affiliated documentary filmmaker. They were taken by Cheney's staff photographer on September 11th, 2001.

Here's Cheney watching the initial TV reports of planes hitting the Twin Towers:

Here he is a bit later in the President's Emergency Operations Center (PEOC), a secure room underneath the White House:

He's clearly sitting in the President's seat (Notice the Seal directly behind him). According to PBS Frontline, he made several phone calls from the PEOC, including one to Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld.

Here he is again in the captain's chair, conferring with his BFF lawyer David Addington:

President Bush didn't get back to the White House until after 7pm. Here's Cheney bringing him up to speed:

Lynn Cheney has always terrified me as much as Dick

the article ends with this chilling line:

Cheney will soon announce from Camp David that the United States will have to work the “dark side.”

it is his reclined, relaxed position. He is sitting in an office, above ground very calmly watching planes fly into the world trade center. The initial reports no less! And this is his initial reaction? And weren't we told at the time that he was whisked off to the underground bunker by staff so quickly his feet barely touched the ground? Or did I make that part up?

Seems odd, seems very odd to me.

Completely botched the immediate response, the long term response, and will spend the rest of his life pretending he was a great human being. He wasn't. I hope history will bury him, but history sometimes loves to praise horrible human beings. The up coming election all I think about is if any of these Republican clowns win many of these people are right back in the White House making god awful decisions. Most of these people should be in jail for war crimes. Period. 9-11 doesn't justify what they did post 9-11. Nothing justifies the Iraq war and their torture program. It is disgusting that so little was done since they've left office to bring charges against them.

...my partner called me, told me "something weird and awful is happening," and told me to turn on the teevee.

I'd been folding the laundry, and I brought the basket with me into the den, set it on the table in front of the sofa, and turned on the television.

And just stood there.

Stood.

And then started walking, back and forth, biting my knuckle, sometimes wrapping my arms around myself, walking some more, watching. I went to the window, once, I remember. Silly, we were clear across the Chesapeake Bay from the Pentagon and a long way from New York. But I wanted to see the sky.

I finally sat down when the phone rang again. Hunched over a little, full of horror and tension, still watching.

But then, I'm just one of those "little people."

Not one of the elite, in-the-know denizens of the Halls of Power.

That must be the difference.

27. ''Do the orders still stand?''
Sat Jul 25, 2015, 01:20 AM
Jul 2015

Dr. Philip Zelikow and the 9-11 Commission edited Secretary of Transportation Mineta's I story. From Wikipedia:

During the September 11, 2001 attacks, Mineta issued an order to ground all civilian aircraft traffic for the first time in U.S. history.

Mineta's testimony to the 9/11 Commission about his experience in the Presidential Emergency Operating Center with Vice President Cheney as American Airlines flight 77 approached the Pentagon was not included in the 9/11 Commission Report.<3> In one colloquy testified by Mineta, the vice president refers to orders concerning the plane approaching the Pentagon:

There was a young man who had come in and said to the vice president, 'The plane is 50 miles out. The plane is 30 miles out.' And when it got down to, 'The plane is 10 miles out,' the young man also said to the vice president, 'Do the orders still stand?' And the vice president turned and whipped his neck around and said, 'Of course the orders still stand. Have you heard anything to the contrary?' Well, at the time I didn't know what all that meant.

– Norman Mineta, (4)

Commissioner Lee Hamilton queried if the order was to shoot down the plane, to which Mineta replied that he did not know that specifically.(4)

Mineta's testimony to the Commission on Flight 77 differs rather significantly from the account provided in the January 22, 2002 edition of the Washington Post, as reported by Bob Woodward and Dan Balz in their series "10 Days in September"

“ 9:32 a.m.
The Vice President in Washington: Underground, in Touch With Bush

Transportation Secretary Norman Y. Mineta, summoned by the White House to the bunker, was on an open line to the Federal Aviation Administration operations center, monitoring Flight 77 as it hurtled toward Washington, with radar tracks coming every seven seconds. Reports came that the plane was 50 miles out, 30 miles out, 10 miles out-until word reached the bunker that there had been an explosion at the Pentagon.

Mineta shouted into the phone to Monte Belger at the FAA: "Monte, bring all the planes down." It was an unprecedented order-there were 4,546 airplanes in the air at the time. Belger, the FAA's acting deputy administrator, amended Mineta's directive to take into account the authority vested in airline pilots. "We're bringing them down per pilot discretion," Belger told the secretary.

&quot Expletive) pilot discretion," Mineta yelled back. "Get those (expletive) planes down."

Sitting at the other end of the table, Cheney snapped his head up, looked squarely at Mineta and nodded in agreement.

—Dan Balz and Bob Woodward, http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A42754-20...

This same article also reports that the conversation between Cheney and the aide occurred at 9:55 am, about 30 minutes later than the time Mineta cited (9:26 am) during his testimony to the 9/11 Commission.

Interestingly, on Sept. 11, 2001, members of the Carlyle Group - including Bush senior, and his former secretary of state, James Baker - were meeting at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Washington, D.C., along with Shafiq bin Laden, another one of Osama bin Laden's brothers.

While all flights were halted following the terrorist attacks, there was one exception made: The White House authorized planes to pick up 140 Saudi nationals, including 24 members of the bin Laden family, living in various cities in the U.S. to bring them back to Saudi Arabia, where they would be safe. They were never interrogated.

Bin Laden Family evacuated

Two dozen members of Osama bin Laden's family were urgently evacuated from the United States in the first days following the terrorist attacks on New York and Washington, according to the Saudi ambassador to Washington.

One of bin Laden's brothers frantically called the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Washington looking for protection, Prince Bandar bin Sultan told The New York Times. The brother was sent to a room in the Watergate Hotel and was told not to open the door.

Most of bin Laden's relatives were attending high school and college. The young members of the bin Laden family were driven or flown under FBI supervision to a secret place in Texas and then to Washington, The Times reported Sunday.

<snip>

Osama bin Laden is one of more than 50 children of a Yemeni-born migrant who made a vast fortune building roads and palaces in Saudi Arabia and his extended family spans the globe. Many have been educated in the United States and the family has donated millions of dollars to several American universities.

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/bin-laden-family-evacuated/

I'd like to add (for general viewers) embassies are spy nests and Ambassador's are typically spies with diplomatic immunity. Bandar was promoted to head of Saudi security in 2005 or so. I strongly believe he was the coordinator, the point man as he was for numerous

Bandar

Reagan era

During the Reagan presidency, he secured the purchase of AWACs surveillance aircraft despite opposition from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.[8] After the United States rejected an arms order, he arranged the delivery of intermediate-range nuclear-warhead-capable missiles from China.[8] This angered the Central Intelligence Agency and the United States Department of State.[8] He was exposed for his involvement in the Iran-Contra scandal. He had arranged $32 million in Saudi financing for the Nicaraguan Contras.[3] Nancy Reagan used him to relay messages to the Cabinet.[3]

<snip>

According to a number of articles, Prince Bandar, allegedly confronted Vladimir Putin in a bid to break the deadlock over Syria. This included security of winter Olympics in Sochi if there is no accord. "I can give you a guarantee to protect the Winter Olympics next year. The Chechen groups that threaten the security of the games are controlled by us," he allegedly said.[41] Putin then rejected the proposal furiously by saying "we know that you have supported the Chechen terrorist groups for a decade. And that support, which you have frankly talked about just now, is completely incompatible with the common objectives of fighting global terrorism that you mentioned."[42]

<snip>

In August 2013 the Wall Street Journal reported that Bandar had been appointed to lead Saudi Arabia's efforts to topple Syrian President Bashar Assad and that the US Central Intelligence Agency considered this a sign of how serious Saudi Arabia was about this aim.[22] The Journal reported that In late 2012 Saudi intelligence, under Bandar's direction, began efforts to convince the US that the Assad government was using chemical weapons. Bandar was also described as "jetting from covert command centers near the Syrian front lines to the Élysée Palace in Paris and the Kremlin in Moscow, seeking to undermine the Assad regime."[22]

<snip>

Bandar helped negotiate the 1985 Al Yamamah deal, a series of massive arms sales by the United Kingdom to Saudi Arabia worth GB£40 billion (US$80 billion), including the sale of more than 100 warplanes. After the deal was signed, British arms manufacturer British Aerospace (now BAE Systems) allegedly funnelled secret payments of at least GB£1 billion (US$2 billion) into two Saudi embassy accounts in Washington, in yearly instalments of up to GB£120 million (US$240 million) over at least 10 years. He allegedly took money for personal use out of the accounts, as the purpose of one of the accounts was to pay the operating expenses of his private Airbus A340. According to investigators, there was "no distinction between the accounts of the embassy, or official government accounts [...], and the accounts of the royal family." The payments were discovered during a Serious Fraud Office investigation, which was stopped in December 2006 by attorney general Lord Goldsmith.[63][64] In 2009, he hired Louis Freeh as his legal representative for the Al-Yamamah arms scandal.[65]

<snip>

A court affidavit filed on 3 February 2015 claims that Zacarias Moussaoui served as a courier between Osama bin Laden and Turki bin Faisal Al Saud in the late 1990s, and that Turki introduced Moussaoui to Bandar.[68] The Saudi government continues to deny any involvement in the 9/11 plot, and claims there is no evidence to support Moussaoui's allegations in spite of numerous intense investigations previously, noting that Moussaoui's own lawyers presented evidence of his mental incompetence during his trial.[68]

This is what Iran media reported and the main claim on Bandar makes a lot of sense & consider Saudi's attention to the story

Pakistan to Demand Taliban Give Up Bin Laden as Iran Seals Afghan Border

<snip>

Bin Laden has denied any connection to the attacks, though he has praised them. On Sunday, he reiterated his denial in a statement read by Qatar's al-Jazeera satellite television channel.

"I stress that I have not carried out this act, which appears to have been carried out by individuals with their own motivation," read the al-Jazeera announcer from the statement.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/2001/09/16/pakistan-to-demand-taliban-give-up-bin-laden-as-iran-seals-afghan-border.html

The official story lacks evidence and is problematic as KSM is obviously tortured for false confessions & while Bin Laden certainly may have played a role with training the problematic thing as far as Bin Laden is targeting and hitting US embassies -- I can't see CIA doing false flags on themselves I can't see something like letting something from him happened but hard to know. It feels like the "war on terror" was about profits & tying up loose ends. The official narrative doesn't fit with the evidence & the post-9/11 behavior is very typical for witness intimidation, deaths, foul play.

They main thing is well over $100,000 was transferred to the hijackers on 9/11 from UAE accounts and a Pakistani ISI official was outed

The Wall Street Journal was one of the only Western news organizations to follow up on the story, citing the Times of India: "US authorities sought General Mahmud Ahmed's removal after confirming the fact that $100,000 was wired to WTC hijacker Mohamed Atta from Pakistan by Ahmad Umar Sheikh at the insistence of General Mahmud."[25] Another Indian newspaper, the Daily Excelsior, quoting FBI sources, reported that the "FBI’s examination of the hard disk of the cellphone company Omar Sheikh had subscribed to led to the discovery of the "link" between him and the deposed chief of the Pakistani ISI, Mahmud Ahmed. And as the FBI investigators delved deep, reports surfaced with regard to the transfer of $100,000 to Mohamed Atta, one of the ringleaders of the September 11 attacks, who flew a hijacked Boeing commercial airliner into the World Trade Center. General Mahmud Ahmed, the FBI investigators found, fully knew about the transfer of money to Atta."[26]

<snip>

Sheikh rose to prominence with the 2002 killing of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, who at the time was in Pakistan investigating connections between the ISI and Islamic militant groups. In Pakistan, Sheikh was sentenced to death for killing Pearl, however his complicity in the execution and the reasons behind it are in dispute. Further adding to the confusion surrounding the issue is that Khalid Sheikh Muhammad personally claimed to have been Pearl's killer.[29]

Omar Saeed Sheikh was seemingly implicated by Benazir Bhutto, just before her own death, in a hypothetical murder of Osama Bin Laden (which must have occurred in late 2001 or 2002).[30] Several commentators have noted that, as she had previously been speaking about one of the sons of bin Laden during the interview, in all likelihood, Bhutto simply misspoke and had intended to say, "Omar Sheikh, the man who murdered Daniel Pearl," rather than "...the man who murdered bin Laden" - such an important revelation about bin Laden's fate would certainly not have been stated so casually. Additionally, in subsequent interviews, Bhutto spoke about bin Laden in the context of him being alive.[31]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ahmed_Omar_Saeed_Sheikh

Bhutto is a very mysterious death though that is for another day. A "Toyota Sunroof"?

Another FBI Whistleblower (13 years ago)

When FBI counsel Colleen Rowley dropped her bombshell, a now-famous letter to the director, detailing how bureau higher-ups thwarted attempts to investigate accused 20th hijacker, Zacarias Moussaoui, before the September 11 attacks, she set off a firestorm. The scorching produced a mea culpa of sorts in June from FBI Director Robert Mueller and a promise of reform.

Now there‘s another whistle blower telling a similar pre-911 tale. And so far, the FBI has gone to great lengths to silence him.

The Weekly has learned that Chicago-based special agent Robert Wright has accused the agency of shutting down his 1998 criminal probe into alleged terrorist-training camps in Chicago and Kansas City. The apparent goal of the training camps, according to confidential documents obtained by the Weekly, was to recruit and train Palestinian-American youths, who would then slip into Israel. Recruits at these camps reportedly received weapons training and instruction in bomb-making techniques in the early 1990s. The bomb-making curriculum included the sort of explosives later used in the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing. And government documents state that two trainees came from the Oklahoma City area.

This reminds me of Ed Norris

The Murder of Meir Kahane

While commander of the 17th Detective Squad, Norris led the investigation into the murder of Meir Kahane, an American-Israeli rabbi and ultranationalist writer and political figure. At the time, the NYPD officially classified the murder as the act of a lone gunman, over the protests of Norris who warned of a bigger conspiracy. After the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, it was later revealed that Meir Kahane was the first al-Qaeda murder inside the US, as well as the first incident leading up to 9/11.

Kahane was killed in a Manhattan hotel by an Arab gunman on November 5, 1990 after Kahane concluded a speech warning American Jews to immigrate to Israel before it was "too late.” He was shot by El Sayyid Nosair, an Egyptian-born American citizen. Nosair fled the room, shooting 74-year-old Irving Franklin. As Nosair continued onto Lexington Avenue, attempting to flee in a taxi, he saw a police officer approaching him. Nosair stepped out of the taxi and fired shots toward the officer. The officer returned fire and both men lay wounded in the street. Upon searching Nosair's wallet, a list was found containing the names of several New York elected officials along with Nosair's New Jersey address.

At Nosair's home, detectives found and arrested two Egyptian men who admitted to driving taxis for a living as well as being in the vicinity at the time of the shooting. The ensuing search of Nosair's home revealed many items of concern including photographs of New York City landmarks, classified US Military documents, bomb-making manuals and books containing Arabic diagrams that Norris believed to represent plans to hijack an armored car. These diagrams were later revealed to be a plan to assassinate then Egyptian President, Hosni Mubarak.

The next morning, while briefing the Chief of Detectives, Norris refuted the NYPD's assertion that this was the act of a single crazed gunman. Norris described the evidence and the drivers of the believed get-away car in custody. The Chief of Detectives told Norris, "you shut up and handle the murder, they do conspiracies," pointing to the FBI agents in the room. Norris was then ordered to release the cab drivers and turn over his documents. Nosair was sent to prison for the Kahane assassination and the cab drivers were released.

One of the released cab drivers later rented the van that was used in the bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993. During the World Trade Center bombing trial, the documents uncovered from Nosair’s home were translated to reveal the words Al Qaeda, and a descriptive roadmap of 9/11. Norris' vision of a bigger plot in the single murder case have been mentioned in The Cell by John Miller and Michael Stone, 1000 Years for Revenge by Peter Lance, House of Bush, House of Saud: The Secret Relationship between the World’s Two Most Powerful Dynasties by Craig Unger, and several others books.

42. President Cheney fought the release of these photos & so much more
Sat Jul 25, 2015, 10:03 AM
Jul 2015

On Friday, Colette Neirouz Hanna opened an e-mail from the National Archives that she has been waiting to receive for more than a decade. Hanna, the coordinating producer for the FRONTLINE film team the Kirk Documentary Group, had just struck stock footage research gold — 2,664 photographs of former Vice President Richard Cheney and his staff were being released to FRONTLINE in response to her Freedom of Information Act request.

“We have wanted these photos for years to help us tell the story of probably the most powerful vice president in American history,” Hanna said.

For almost 15 years, FRONTLINE has been covering the role that Vice President Cheney played in the Bush administration’s response to the 9/11 attacks. And from the beginning, one of the biggest challenges was the intense secrecy that surrounded the Office of the Vice President.

“Time and again we ran into roadblocks,” said Hanna. “The White House would refuse to cooperate with our requests for photographs and even our attempts to film hallways in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building were denied.”

At one point, the administration refused to provide FRONTLINE a high resolution photograph of the vice president that had already appeared on the White House website. We used the low resolution photograph anyway.

Without cooperation from the White House, the Kirk Documentary Group — whose coverage of the Bush administration for FRONTLINE includes the films Bush’s War, Cheney’s Law, The Dark Side, and most recently, the 2014 investigation Losing Iraq -- worked to find the images in other ways.

But Hanna knew there was a trove of other photographs out there, and when the National Archives took over the Bush administration’s records, she was one of the first to file a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request for the long-denied photographs.

“The release of this significant archive after years of trying points to the importance of in-depth journalism and our commitment to an important story like this,” says Raney Aronson-Rath, executive producer of FRONTLINE. “Through tenacity like this, we’re committed to shining new light on the big stories and people who continue to shape our times.”

That one photo of the camera looking up from the desk over a phone off the hook was obviously set up.

The fact that these people still use handset phones too. Obama was the first president we've had where they had to take away his Blackberry.

I still say their White House photographer was tasked with making sure they looked good.

My biggest question is how could Cheney YAWN during this?

My own opinion is they were caught flat footed.

You have to remember the Republicans had just spent the last few years claiming Clinton was playing "Wag the Dog" by exaggerating the threat of international terrorism to take the country's attention off of the impeachment hearings and the Monica, Monica, Monica scandal.

They were warned repeatedly and assumed that all of that was former Clinton loyalists trying to make their former boss look good.

before I go there photos released before these ones released show hundreds of him having talks with lawyer David Addington. Everywhere. White House halls, Air Force One, him yawning in the two photos I shared.

Osama Bin Laden hit US embassies which are notorious spy nests. I don't believe he was the 'mastermind', 'planner', etc I think he was largely framed because for one hitting embassies are killing CIA agents -- they aren't going to tolerate that so they wouldn't perform a false flag operation with him but rather with Prince Bandar & set him up. Consider the bombings of Al-Jazeera twice from Bush who also wanted to do it again. CIA proposed false flag attacks such as Operation Northwoods which Kennedy had the good sense to reject so they aren't against killing own citizens and pointing the finger in the at the wrong guy. In any case Osama Bin Laden was clearly at war with the spy apparatus.

Osama bin Laden's bookshelf: Noam Chomsky, Bob Woodward, and jihad

The list of books and other publications seized by US Navy Seals during the May 2011 raid in which the al–Qaida leader was killed reveal an eclectic range of reading material including works by Noam Chomsky, Yale history professor Paul Kennedy, and journalist Bob Woodward, as well as books suggesting that senior US officials deliberately allowed the 9/11 attacks to succeed.

<snip>

There is a notable interest, too, in conspiratorial theories of world power, with several volumes which claim to expose the secret societies and cabals that run the world and the evils of financial capitalism. Bizarrely, the library includes one book – New Pearl Harbor – which argues that the government of George W Bush was complicit in the 9/11 terror attacks.

Al-Jazeera

The five-page memorandum is said by the Mirror to be a record of the meeting between the two leaders which took place on 16 April 2004 at the height of Operation Vigilant Resolve, an assault on Fallujah by U.S. Marines and Iraqi security forces. Al Jazeera reporters were in the city providing video footage of the conflict. The day before the meeting, U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld described Al Jazeera's coverage as "vicious, inaccurate and inexcusable."[1] Al Jazeera reporters defended their live broadcasts of the civilian casualties by stating "the pictures do not lie".[1]

The White House has dismissed the allegations made in the article.[2] Given that Qatar is an ally of the United States and the United Kingdom in the Iraq War, many commentators have speculated that even if the reports of the memorandum are accurate, they may simply be recording a statement which the President did not intend to be taken seriously. A White House official told CNN "We are not going to dignify something so outlandish with a response," and a Pentagon official called the Daily Mirror report "absolutely absurd."[3] A BBC News correspondent has suggested that if President Bush did indeed make the comments they were intended as "some kind of joke."[4]

Writing in The Independent on 28 November Andreas Whittam Smith countered, observing that "official note takers don't normally record jokes". He also pointed to the alleged leaker's "25 years' experience of tough postings in place such as Islamabad and Khartoum, ... often involved in intelligence work" and concluded that he "must have felt exceptionally troubled by what he was seeing."[5]

According to a report in The Daily Telegraph[6]:

"People who have seen the document say the real reason that it is being suppressed by the Government is because it contains a potentially damaging private discussion between the two leaders about the controversial United States attack on the Iraqi city of Fallujah last year."

For me it is difficult to convert 1000s of hours of research into a short apply but there was no dropped the ball. George HW Bush was with the Bin Laden family, flown to a secret meeting in Texas before being flown out of the country again coordinated with the help of "Bandar Bush". You'd have to see Nixon in His Own documents to understand the reality I'm trying to present. The George HW Bush Center of Intelligence.

Nixon bullied his staff & exposed them to great risk. He also ordered assassinations on tapes released 2013. I can't wait 40 years from now.

February 22, 1974: Samuel Byck planned to kill Nixon by crashing a commercial airliner into the White House.[30] He hijacked the plane on the ground by force, and was told that it could not take off with the wheel blocks still in place. After he shot the pilot and copilot, an officer shot Byck through the plane's door window. He survived long enough to kill himself by shooting. These events were portrayed in the film The Assassination of Richard Nixon.

U.S. government research

The United States government funded and performed numerous psychological experiments, especially during the Cold War era. Many of these experiments were performed to help develop more effective torture and interrogation techniques for the U.S. military and intelligence agencies, and to develop techniques for Americans to resist torture at the hands of enemy nations and organizations.

<snip>

Medical professionals gathered and collected data on the CIA’s use of torture techniques on detainees during the 21st century war on terror, in order to refine those techniques, and "to provide legal cover for torture, as well as to help justify and shape future procedures and policies", according to a 2010 report by Physicians for Human Rights. The report stated that: “Research and medical experimentation on detainees was used to measure the effects of large-volume waterboarding and adjust the procedure according to the results." As a result of the waterboarding experiments, doctors recommended adding saline to the water “to prevent putting detainees in a coma or killing them through over-ingestion of large amounts of plain water." Sleep deprivation tests were performed on over a dozen prisoners, in 48-, 96- and 180-hour increments. Doctors also collected data intended to help them judge the emotional and physical effects of the techniques so as to “calibrate the level of pain experienced by detainees during interrogation" and to determine if using certain types of techniques would increase a subject's "susceptibility to severe pain." In 2010 the CIA denied the allegations, claiming they never performed any experiments, and saying "The report is just wrong"; however, the U.S. government never investigated the claims.[145][146][147][148][149][150] The psychologists James Mitchell and Bruce Jessen ran a company that was paid $81 million by the CIA, that, according to the Senate Intelligence Committee report on CIA torture, developed the "enhanced interrogation techniques" used.[151] In November 2014, the American Psychological Association announced that they would hire a lawyer to investigate claims that they were complicit in the development of enhanced interrogation techniques that constituted torture.[152]

First off Boehner is #1 by far than anyone by a large number of different industries in campaign donations but few realize US has a patent on Ebola -- http://appft1.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO1&Sect2=HITOFF&d=PG01&p=1&u=/netahtml/PTO/srchnum.html&r=1&f=G&l=50&s1=20120251502.PGNR

Ebola came around around in the mid 70s which really should be researched. Go to State Department FOIA releases type in Ebola two documents come up and the redacted areas are telling. Open Secrets

In the third quarter spanning July through September, 17 organizations specifically referred to the hemorrhagic fever — which has already caused more than 4,500 deaths in West Africa and one in the United States — in their lobbying filings. This includes health professionals’ associations, research institutions and many pharmaceutical companies.

With the growing scare, many of these companies’ stocks have already soared. And so have their lobbying tabs.

Sarepta Therapeutics, which has been championing its experimental Ebola treatment AVI-7537 for fast-track approval, spent more than ever on lobbying this year. The company shed $80,000 just in the third quarter. Its total annual bill for lobbying had never exceeded $40,000.

Cerus Corp. announced on Monday it was applying for compassionate use approval of its anti-viral blood treatment technology from the Food and Drug Administration. And it came prepared: It has already spent $20,000 promoting its technology to officials.

BioCryst Pharmaceuticals has already received millions from the government to develop an Ebola treatment — including an extra $2.4 million from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases announced in August. But in the third quarter, BioCryst lobbied explicitly on Ebola for the first time, dropping $60,000 on the “Ebola response,” pandemic preparedness and biodefense.

Another company throwing its hat in the K Street ring in the third quarter: Hemispherx BioPharma, a boutique biotech firm that obtained approval last month from the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases to test two of its drugs in countering Ebola. It hired Squire Patton Boggs hands this month “to bring our experimental drug Ampligen and FDA approved drug Alferon online as potential therapeutics for Ebola,” according to a statement given to Politico.

Except one thing: Cheney is clearly the one in control, not Bush. And that photo of him watching the events unfold looks like an uncaring calculating psychopath watching a football game.

The New York Times’ Maureen Dowd writes 2013:

In a documentary soon to appear on Showtime, “The World According to Dick Cheney,” [Cheney said] “I got on the telephone with the president, who was in Florida, and told him not to be at one location where we could both be taken out.” Mr. Cheney kept W. flying aimlessly in the air on 9/11 while he and Lynn left on a helicopter for a secure undisclosed location, leaving Washington in a bleak, scared silence, with no one reassuring the nation in those first terrifying hours.

Britain’s Daily Telegraph will report that at about 9:05 a.m., around the time when President Bush is informed of the second plane crash in New York (see (9:06 a.m.) September 11, 2001), “a squad of Secret Service agents stormed into the office of Vice President Dick Cheney,” seizes the vice president, and carries him down to the PEOC. White House counterterrorism chief Richard Clarke will indicate that Cheney is evacuated shortly after the second plane hits the WTC. Clarke will write that after he learns of the second attack, he briefly talks to Cheney in the vice president’s office (see (9:05 a.m.) September 11, 2001). As he leaves the room, he notices Cheney gathering up his papers and then sees eight Secret Service agents in Cheney’s outer office, “ready to move to the PEOC.” [CLARKE, 2004, PP. 1-2]

bullet President Bush’s personal secretary, Ashley Estes, will recall seeing Secret Service agents running down the hallway, carrying Cheney along, after she watches the second plane hit the WTC on television at 9:03 a.m. [WHITE HOUSE, 8/29/2002]
Cheney will describe the urgency with which his Secret Service agents move him out of his office, recalling that they “came in and said, ‘Sir, we have to leave immediately,’ and grabbed me… and they hoisted me up and moved me very rapidly down the hallway, down some stairs, through some doors, and down some more stairs into an underground facility under the White House.” [MEET THE PRESS, 9/16/2001]

Some Accounts Consistent with Early Evacuation Time - Some accounts, while not specifically describing Cheney being hurried away from his office by the Secret Service, will be consistent with the vice president being evacuated around the time of the second attack in New York. White House adviser Karl Rove, who is with the president in Florida, will tell NBC News that when Bush tries phoning Cheney at around 9:16 a.m., he is unable to contact him because “the vice president was being… grabbed by a Secret Service agent and moved to the bunker” (see (9:16 a.m.-9:29 a.m.) September 11, 2001). 54. Samuel Byck

Assassination attempt

In early 1974, Byck made his decision to assassinate Nixon. He planned to do so by hijacking an airliner and crashing it into the White House on a day when Nixon would be there. It has been suggested (for instance, by the 2004 film dramatization of his life) that Byck was inspired by news reports of the buzzing of the White House by Army PFC Robert K. Preston in a stolen helicopter on February 17, 1974.[6]

Since Byck was already known to the Secret Service, and because legal attempts to purchase a firearm might have resulted in increased scrutiny, Byck stole a .22 caliber revolver from his friend to use in the hijacking.[1] Byck also made a bomb out of 2 gallon jugs of gasoline and an igniter.[7] All through this process, Byck made audio recordings explaining his motives and his plans; he expected to be considered a hero for his actions and wanted to fully document his reasons for the assassination.[8]

On February 22, 1974, Byck drove to the Baltimore/Washington International Airport. He shot and killed Maryland Aviation Administration Police officer George Neal Ramsburg before storming aboard a DC-9, Delta Air Lines Flight 523 to Atlanta, which he chose because it was the closest flight that was ready to take off.[1][2][3] After pilots Reese (Doug) Loftin and Fred Jones told him they could not take off until wheel blocks were removed, he shot them both and grabbed a nearby passenger, ordering her to "fly the plane".[9] Jones died as he was being removed from the aircraft after the event was concluded; Loftin survived the attack.[1][9] Byck told a flight attendant to close the door, or he would blow up the plane.[2] Anne Arundel County Police officers attempted to shoot out the tires of the aircraft in order to prevent it from taking off, but the .38 caliber bullets fired from the Smith & Wesson revolvers issued to the officers at that time period failed to penetrate the tires of the aircraft and ricocheted off, some hitting the wing of the aircraft.[2]

After a standoff with police, Charles Troyer, an Anne Arundel County police officer on the jetway, stormed the plane and fired four shots through the aircraft door at Byck with a .357 Magnum revolver taken from the deceased Ramsburg. Two of the shots penetrated the thick window of the aircraft door and wounded Byck. Before the police could gain entry to the aircraft, Byck committed suicide by shooting himself in the head.[2] Or being shot in the head:my thoughts

<snip>

Aftermath

It was subsequently discovered that Byck had sent a tape recording detailing his plan, which he called "Operation Pandora's Box",[3][6][10] to news columnist Jack Anderson.[4][11] A review of records disclosed that Byck had been arrested twice for protesting in front of the White House without a permit, and that he later dressed in a Santa Claus suit for another protest.[2][4] The flight's captain recovered and resumed flying airliners several years later.[12]

In 1987, an FAA document entitled "Troubled Passage: The Federal Aviation Administration During the Nixon–Ford Term 1973–1977" was produced, which mentioned Byck's failed hijacking: "...though Byck lacked the skill and self-control to reach his target, he had provided a chilling reminder of the potential of violence against civil aviation. Under a more relaxed security system, his suicidal rampage might have begun when the airliner was aloft."[10]

I consider Reagan's decision to fire air traffic controllers is even more suspect than I originally considered.

and he let just a hint of a smile come out in shots three and four.
Cheney is a sub-human piece of human detritus, as is Lynn. And Liz(ard), (the nepotism poster child and lead singer for Dickie and the Deferments), is damned near as bad as those who spawned her.
A pox on all of them.

And on the second page, third one down, is of a large table with Cheney and Rice to W's left and on his right are 2 men and a woman.

The man closest to W has an expression that when I saw it is one of aghast at possibly something W has just said.

My theory for this conclusion is that Cheney has his hands together in what looks like the old child's game 'Here's the church and here's the steeple...' and he has the body language of subservience.

I can just imagine he will then bring his hands slightly forward, spreading them up and outward until they form claws.

His neck would then them as he does and jut out his head as a snapping turtle would, not the Jon Stewart MCconnell turtle impersonation, but one that will berate W for whatever stupid thing he just said.

You found a way to subtly create a 9/11 Troof thread in GD....without actually coming out and saying that the US government "LIHOP" or "MIHOP". Well done.

Now, if you'll excuse me....

It details Cheney's lawyers setting in place ridiculous opinions that initiated the torture and domestic spying programs that we still have today. Great read.
