Hey Arizona WTF?

So I just got back from a trip to Arizona. Let me say Sedona is lovely.

Having said that I had something happen while there that has never happened to me any place else I have ever visited before.

The first time it happened I wrote it off as an aberration. The second time in three days I started thinking WTF is going on out here.

We took our dog with us on vacation as we often do and while walking down the street in Sedona a man walks up to my wife who is walking the dog and says "cute dog I bet he is smarter than Obama"....

The second time it happened was outside of flagstaff at an in and out. Almost identical to the first a guy walks up to my wife who is again holding the dog and says that dog looks smarter than Obama.

What's up Arizona? Is there a local add or something running comparing Obama to dogs?

It seemed such a bizarre thing to walk up to a stranger and say out of the blue I wrote the first instance off as a nutjob ,when it happened again in the space of two days I started wondering if I there is something going on out there I am unaware of.

Was I just lucky enough to run across two morons with the same mindset of is this some sort of inside joke in AZ?

although I live amongst some of that bunch, I haven't heard of this being said to random people walking dogs ever before

Was just the strangest thing. I couldn't for the life of me figure out what would make someone walk up to a stranger and say such a thing.

Having once lived there, I can all too easily imagine the kind of person you ran into, alas.. but what is depressing to me is that you found them in Sedona and Flagstaff, which I would have thought would attract fewer of these kinds of folks than elsewhere in the state.

that expression. But Cons have never beenseen as being long in the logic department.

They also offer a 'Mutts for Mitt' sticker. Not sure why since Mitt is the one that abused his dog.

Sore losers.

pretty liberal, but there's some repubs and teabaggers around somewhere wherever you go in AZ, except for on rez.

Can't say I've ever heard of anyone saying somebody's dog looks like Obama though.
