According Roy and six other members of the board who confirmed her account, some only willing to speak on background, Governor LePages displeasure was the result of an incident involving the presentation of a CMA-branded license plate to then-Congressman Mike Michaud.
The plates were the product of a bill passed by the State Legislature to honor the Congress and provide a fundraising tool, with part of the proceeds from sales of the plates going to fund the CMA.
