President Carter: Corker comments to John Kerry 'improper'

Former President Jimmy Carter believes it was "improper and a mistake" for U.S. Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., to tell U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry he was "fleeced" by Iran in negotiations over the controversial new nuclear agreement with the country.

Carter, at the Nashville Public Library on Thursday to sign copies of his new book, said he supports Kerry and the deal between Iran, the United States and several U.S. allies.

"I think Corker's comments were improper and a mistake. I think he's wrong about the Iran nuclear deal, I think it's a very good one," Carter said.

"I think that anybody that has served in the Senate with John Kerry, or has known him since then as I have ... knows that he's a very astute and wonderful and dedicated person. And If he signs and agreement, I don't have any doubt that it will be carried out."

And have expressed pleasant surprise that the deal is so comprehensive.

It's only Bibiz fury that is getting any play in US media.

Not to worry. I listened to most of the hearing this morning.

Barbara chastised both Corker and the Senator from Idaho for using such words as ," Fleeced," and ,Bamboozled," at such an important hearing. Told them how very inappropriate that was. Shut Corker down good.

Mostly Republicans complained of how they are put in a situation that if they vote it down they would make this country a pariah. Kerry, Lew answered every question, corrected every misrepresentation.

Jeff Flake really made a good representation of what a Senator should be.

Oh, their dignity! As if they have shown any in the last 7 years.

These Obama derangement syndrome Republicans are faithfully following the dictates of their infamous January 20, 2009 Frank Luntz led meeting to undermine Obama at every turn.

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/06/08/1098434/-Eric-Cantor-Paul-Ryan-Kevin-McCarthy-Plot-To-Sabotage-US-Economy-with-Frank-Luntz#

In this case, they would undermine the safety of the entire planet, condemn our patriotic youth to spill more of their blood in the Middle East, and turn the USA into a moral pariah of the entire world, save for some American deeply red states.

Really? REALLY? These morally bankrupt corporate owned creeps would blow up one of the best things to happen to make the world and the middle east a better and safer place, just to follow the dictates of this insidious meeting?

Bob Corker was at this meeting, by the way.

When will this be considered traitorous or treason or whatever it's called when you undermine our government?

If they do sabotage this wonderful deal, I hope they are turned into pariahs that hold the same historical place as Benedict Arnold and are shunned from polite society.

The FATHER of climate change denial propaganda and misinformation.

As global warming accelerates and goes past the point of no return (which in my opinion we have already past a decade or two ago) I hope his place in history is somewhere in the Hitler-Goebbels-Bin Laden-Cheney vicinity.

Big oil is the ultimate in short term self destructive corporate thinking; They are literally willing to knowingly destroy the future of all life on earth for the next quarterly profit statement!

If there is a hell I hope they burn in it!

Were complaining how they have been boxed in at the hearings yesterday.

They said they would make this nation a pariah if they nixed the deal! How dare anyone infringe on their dignity. That is really the laugh of the year.

For both reasons, his defense of Secretary Kerry is important. Secretary Kerry should be very proud that such a man, not only praised the deal and supports it, but that he added to it a strong endorsement of both his character and ability.

Par for the course.

I say get rid of Corker, and let Inhofe chair that committee. All he'll do is throw snowballs at Kerry.
