Alamance County adds camera to watch Confederate monument (NC)

BURLINGTON, N.C. - Alamance County has bought a camera to keep watch on the old courthouse and the Confederate memorial out front.

The Times News of Burlington reports the county spent $3,500 for a camera system that began operations earlier this week.

Burlington police had loaned the county a camera for an event last Saturday called "Rally for Our Monument."

That rally was hosted by a group called Alamance County Taking Back Alamance County. It was a response to a group called Concerned Citizens of Alamance County, which said it would ask that the Confederate monument be removed ...
