Infrastructure and climate change - I-10 bridge collapse in California

http://www.seattletimes.com/nation-world/california-i-10-bridge-collapses-travel-woes-could-last/
The collapse of the I-10 bridge in California can be viewed as a story about both the sorry state of our country's infrastructure and the havoc caused by climate change.
How much longer can the Republicans continue denying the existence of both?

Please, the republicans need to get their heads out of their a**es about climate change. However, I lived in Los Angeles for 25 years: when it rains, it rains hard. The concrete river floods, sewers are overwhelmed. Drivers and pedestrians are stranded, and sometimes they die. Mudslides take out homes and highways. I would hope there would have been more attention to infrastrucutre after the Northridge Earthquake, but I am sure the roads are aging. That said, I don't see how this is specifically related to climate change.
