(16,113 posts)That the bush tax cuts are all the republicans fault, you should be prepared to explain how this happened with a Dem president, House, and Senate, and respond when someone posts quotes of the president pushing FOR it.

(15,222 posts)I love comparative charts. I think they are one of the ways even the people who vote Republican can understand! I will be sharing.
Appreciate it!

(16,646 posts)It might be surprising to find out how much of this stuff was either supported by Dems, or worse, written by dems.

(31,828 posts)Excellent visual annabanana! It will only get worse if we give the WH to a Republican in 2016.

(65,081 posts)The alcohol fuel tax break being compared to community health center cuts. Now, let's be clear, the cuts are a bad thing.
But, not all the alcohol breaks benefit the big fuel companies or agribusiness. And, i support finding some ways to increase renewable fuel usage. In this case, i understood this to be "carrot and stick". In the short term, the incentive was tax breaks, until the mandate takes full hold and then fuel companies have to supply some percentage of their volume as renewable fuel stocks and the tax breaks go away. So, it's a phased in mandate that incentivizes early adoption.
Everything else on the list are beyond valid and open to criticism. The encouragement toward renewables, not so much.

Instant Outage is a reliable best-seller on the Internet, why dilute this perfectly good potion with more information?

(1,772 posts)why doesn't it include things like state and local deductions, mortgage interest deductions on primary homes, amt, pease limits, personal exemptions phaseout, ira tax free accounts, 529 plans, etc?
it just says that any tax policy it doesn't agree with is a tax break.

It no longer exists.
