We shall see if President Obama will at least try to reverse some of the damage.

(17,064 posts)I haven't seen anything done. The rate of murder by cop has gone up too. Holder was more pre-occupied with arresting pot-smoking grannies and protecting Wall St criminals. I expected much better from this administration.

(13,184 posts)Obama got the Fair Sentencing Act through, which reduced the crack/powder cocaine sentencing disparity.
Oh, and Obama and Holder got the Sentencing Commission to make those changes retroactive.
Holder issued directives to federal prosecutors telling them to back off on the mandatory minimums.
Holder and Obama have asked drug war prisoners to apply for clemency, and 30,000 have done so. The first batch got their sentences commuted this week.
Holder and Obama pretty much backed off on marijuana. They are letting legalization proceed apace and things are much quieter on the medical marijuana font, too.
There is all that.

(2,188 posts)If you generally supported it but then saw how bad it was and changed your mind, then I totally forgive you. I've changed my mind on lots of things too.
Now, if you opposed it but only signed it because of political reasons, that's a different story.
