(FL) State DOT worker took $30,000 in bribes, feds say

A Florida Department of Transportation employee faces 20 years in federal prison after being accused of taking $30,000 in bribes from a business facing displacement by one of the agency's road projects, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Tina Moore, 55, of Daytona Beach was charged with conspiracy, bribery, mail fraud and two counts of money laundering in a scheme authorities said she concocted while on the job.

As a right-of-way agent, Pollard helps businesses and people displaced by road projects such as the widening of Interstate 4 in the Orlando-area, documents said.

One business, MLA Furniture, did not want to move from its Garland Avenue location so it paid Moore $10,000 in cash and $20,000 more in checks to make sure it stayed.
