Its great to see the confederate flag come down in S.C. but how come no mention of the Mississippi State Flag? Does it not have the Confederate flag as part of it?

Until then, the Mississippi state flag will do just fine. If it's time to change it, then just toss it out and use another one.

(5,586 posts)The flag was changed to reflect all the state flags in Georgia since the founding. Barnes was a democrat and pretty much lost the election over the flag issue during the next election.
Republican Sonny Perdue then held a statewide referendum on the flag, but switching back to the Confederate flag was not one of the options. Today the Georgia flag is Confederate symbol free, and has been for over a decade.
