Harper worried that election might be influenced by voters
OTTAWA (The News Desk) A recent statement released by the prime ministers office claims that the encroachment of voter influence on elections has reached unacceptable levels, and that the upcoming federal election could be dramatically affected by the participation of voters from across Canada.
Weve seen from past elections that voters can exert a great deal of influence on which party forms government, wrote Harper in the statement.
Numerous studies have shown that public opinion can make or break a partys chances on election day, which is just scary.
Harper also referenced the creeping effects of the nefarious revolving door nature of government, whereby regular Canadian citizens will often assume posts in government, and government officials will retire from public office to become private citizens.
This statement was followed by the announcement of a new advertising campaign highlighting the dangers of voter influence.

Elimination of voter ID cards could leave thousands disenfranchised at polls, groups say
Denying people the ability to use voter identification cards as valid ID at the polls could disenfranchise tens of thousands of eligible voters in the upcoming federal election, advocacy groups warned in court Thursday.
The Council of Canadians and the Canadian Federation of Students are seeking an interim injunction against a key voter identification provision in the Fair Elections Act, passed last year.
The Harper government made changes to voter identification rules last year out of concern over voter fraud. The organizations want Canadas chief electoral officer to be able to authorize voter identification cards as valid ID, a power that was taken away in the act.
Without a voter identification card, voters need a piece of photo ID with their current address or two pieces of ID, one with a photo and one with a current address.

so I was looking for how Harper has been causing problems for people voting.
