Whenever it's convenient, Republicans like to tout their Abe Lincoln street cred. Of course, the ironic devotion to their defeated CSA heritage is lost on them. Given the fact that Republicans are more likely to support the flag, I always ask one question whenever they cite Abraham Lincoln:

"Exactly what happened to your party?"

I've come to terms with the fact that, once upon a time, Southern "Dixie-crats" were towing the CONSERVATIVE LINE OF WHITEPRIDE&BIRTHOFANATIONCIVILWARNOSTALGIA. Today's deluded GOP would have us believe their Southern Jim Crow GOP counterparts were model spokesmen for racial equality.
