http://www.mlive.com/news/saginaw/index.ssf/2015/07/svsu_student_says_he_doesnt_de.htmlDaJuawn Wallace said he didn't stop immediately when prompted by police at 2 a.m. Feb. 19 because he was taught to pull into a well-lit and safe area before doing so.
The Detroit native who is a commuter student pursuing a master's degree at Saginaw Valley State University believes he did not commit a crime, since he pulled over in a Sam's Club parking lot about 1.5 miles up the road from where police activated their lights.
The Saginaw County prosecutor's office disagrees, however. Wallace faces one felony count of fleeing and eluding.
"I live in Detroit, and I know some people who were robbed by fake police officers," Wallace said. "I was taught to find a well-lit area to pullover in."

(44,173 posts)1. Again, more bullshit broken windows policiing
If I was a mayor my first act would be a Stand Down order that calls for an end to broken windows policing and a Stick-to-the-real-criminals approach to crime.
I make no bones about my views that police should let the small things slide.
And legalize drugs.
And for heavens sake, go back to the old days when if a team won the World Series, the fans were allowed to run on the field.

(10,650 posts)2. The prosecutor is, let me guess, a white republican...
Did he speed up? Did he make any evasive maneuvers? Did he try to run? If not, the cops who cited him and prosecutor should be canned.
He did exactly the right thing and the prosecutor will get laughed out of court.
