California Bee Rescuers
Do you have a swarm of bees nearby or on your property that is creating a safety concern? Do you wonder what these bees are up to? The bees are just looking for a home. Swarming is a natural part of the honey bee life cycle. Bees are very important members of our ecosystem, and they are vital to agricultural, so we want to promote their populations – but bees aren't much help to farmers and beekeepers when they have made a home in a roof or on a utility pole.

If you would like to talk with someone about swarming bees or have discovered that bees have built a nest in an unwanted location, there is help. The Pollinator Partnership (P2), in cooperation with Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) have developed a new list of beekeepers who may be able to help you relocate unwanted hives.

Just in time for National Pollinator Week (June 15 – 21, 2015), P2 has created a new website (http://www.pollinator.org/beerescuers.htm) that has important information to help educate the public about swarming bees and to provide resources in California to rescue honey bees that may be swarming in unwanted places.
