and saying that what makes marriage work is giving each other space - I agree 100%.
The smiles in the photo were genuine - they still smile.

and yes both my parents are dead. Dad would have been 102 this coming December and mom 99 in November.
What's really sweet is that they are both alive and in fairly good health to celebrate this amazing milestone.

Same year my favorite fountain pen was made- my Parker51 with gold filled cap. It is a first quarter 1947- the same quarter he was conceived (purely coincidental)

July 7th. 7/7.

Well, WE are all the luckier that the two of them came this way.

As America slowly revives from having tied one on and then being left to stagger on through a horrendous and painful policy hangover from the reagan era, I suspect Jimmy Carter will stand taller and taller. At the same time, the almighty reagan will shrivel. Already we're learning how damaging reagan's policies and his "legacy" were.

and you are reunited with your loved ones - helps a lot, too.

From what I've read, Harry Houdini was determined to report back, after he made that leap himself. People still do seances trying to reach him. So far, in vain. I find myself thinking that I'd do that, too, but if Harry Houdini couldn't manage it, I have serious doubts about my own ability to be successful in that pursuit.

I subscribe to the view that folks have a right to believe what they want as long as they don't try imposing it on others.
