But the former construction workers were all Reagan Democrats so tough luck.

Now those nasty Indians stealing IT jobs, that is worthy of outrage.

is that you want every CEO to personally review the I-9 records for each an every company employee as well as the employees of each and every subcontractor, making sure that all the documentation provided is legit--neither forged nor stolen.

Does the personal responsibility extend to making sure that the employees of vendors and the employees of the companies that the vendor contracts with are properly documented?

I know, it's because then the CEO could do the civic-responsibility thing and ensure that not only is each one fired, but any forged or stolen documentation is reported so that the undocumented immigrant can be deported to free up job slots for American citizens and permanent residents.

Otherwise it's a silly gotcha, regardless of whether it's (R) or (D). l

Funny, every company I know ensures their contractors and employees are US citizens.

Apparently, Trump hires some shady businesses if their HR departments allow undocumented workers or look the other way.

Trump is guilty of allowing this practice to occur. There wouldn't be an illegal issue if employers enforced these rules, but when companies allow such practices to occur, it provides the magnet for undocumented workers to enter the country.

I bet Trump does not permanently discharge each of those contracting firms for violating the law.

===

If he dropped the boom, like every employer I've known, they wouldn't place undocumented workers on his sites.
